Frisia's tail? although if you look at it, it seems to be geared towards magic slinging...
http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Frisia%27s_Tail

Sorry it took me so long to reply, hehe. No, actually, I found a random artifact, and not even a godly one. It was some sort of gun, I believe. I had found it in a shop, but it was, obviously, far too expensive for me to buy.

Although I must say, it would be pretty epic if I could get a spellcaster with enough strength to wield that thing. Although, that would instantly shoot your armor type to heavy, so no idea if you would really be able to cast worth of anything, unless you level heavy armor and spellcasting ridiculously high.

So I'm new. I made a male goblin farmer, but the only clothing and hair options I seem to have are female. I'm not opposed to playing a cross dresser, but is that normal?

They're not the ONLY options, there's just way more of them.  And remember that this is a Japanese RPG, so enormous weird hair on guys is the normal.

In fact, "Japanese RPG" explains a lot about a lot of things.

Yeah. I'm familiar with J-RPGs and Japanese people in general. Chotto nihongo o hanase masu. It definitely explained the "titles" you can select, which seemed primarily to be things like "Pretty Guardian" and "Cute Princess". I chose "Divine Pimp".

Incidently my character has tits, pigtails, a white apron, and a pink bow around his waist. Also, he's only wearing panties under that. He's a MANs man.

Has it already been mentioned that some of the graphics, like my starting boots, helmet, buckler, etc, are from Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup?

Or is it...THE OTHER WAY AROUND?

No, seriously, is it?  Because that seems partly likely.  But I dunno.

Jesus how do I buy a room in the inn? I talk to the guy but he just wants to sell me beer and food. I tried (R)esting in a bed but it isn't making the "sleepy" thing go away.

As for the graphics, I dunno. Seems possible that the DCSS people grabbed the graphics. Who knows!

Also, how do I use a mining pick? Or can I? I can't seem to equip it, or use it in my inventory. Does it affect my ability to mine?

Press 't' on the bed (I think that's the key) to use the bed.  You don't need to pay for it.  If your sleepiness has gone all the way to "need sleep", then resting will make you sleep--which is useful if you have carved out a safe place in a dungeon and have no sleeping bag.

Mining picks are for decoration I think, you can dig without them.  Anything you can drop in your home on a square of its own that gives you the "your room's rating changed" message, even if it doesn't actually change, is primarily furniture.

You just use ('t' while on top of it) the beds, you can use any bed.

Mining picks are furniture items, no real use, you can dig just using 'D' and choosing a wall. Even in a town. Walls magically respawn in towns, though.

No, seriously, is it?  Because that seems partly likely.  But I dunno.

I just saw a "rune" in a shop that looks exactly like the runes from Ultima Online. The treasure chests look like they come from a SNES J-RPG I have played, but I couldn't tell you which one. The deeds look like little American Express cards, and I just saw a shelter for sale that seems to be a big iron door? There is little in the way of consistency in quality or style. To me it seems like they're grabbing graphics from all over the place to save time.

Not that I see anything wrong with that. It's not like they're getting paid for this.

I believe Noa said, possibly in a text file somewhere, he has permission to use everything or mostly everything. He might have meant only programming libraries, however. I know *all* of the music is Creative Commons, so he didn't step on any toes there. Some of the graphics are definitely taken from commercial products, though. Character models seem based on RPG Maker XP's spritesets, as are some of the clothing items. Runes are definitely UO. A lot of the graphics however, are Creative Commons or public domain Roguelike tilesets.

I think he said on the forum, the only graphic he made himself was the panty. XD

I see. I totally believe it too. Once again, I didn't really care either way, but I was just searching in that first dungeon and came across an arrow trap that is just a blown up, bitty image of the one from Dungeon Crawl.

I like this game so far though. Lots to learn, lots to explore.

Doubtful karmatic. The commands are based on the idea that you have at 10-key numpad available (even going so far as to use the * and 0 keys). Who knows what they'll do in the future though.

I was doing alright with my farmer, collecting lots of magic items and making decent amounts of gold, and then I accidentally summoned a killer squirrel into my home by reading a book. Needless to say after the 5th death I decided to call that character quits.
