Would a blessed bed get rid of curse and stat-lowering dreams? Or increase the chances of a good one?

Blessed Beds? Mind shattering Sex? Cursed Gold? I might as well try it.

You know, that's worth looking into. I know i do my best to sleep on the most expensive beds in towns when i reach them, and they seem to benefit me more, though i can't say for certain. I'll have to make note of how each night goes on certain types of bed from now on, and post my findings.

What's the best way to identify items?  Using the mage in town to do it is far too expensive, and the stuff is rarely worth the 300g it costs, but I've got all this potentially awesome stuff I want to sell and have no way of knowing if it's useful or not.  I've got some wands I'd like to ID too, but again, no idea if they're worth it...

Also, where the hell is Noyel?

Sadly, the mage does work out the cheapest option in the long run. Gather a bunch of stuff, store it in your house, run a few quests from the boards that you can find in towns with reasonable time limits on them to get a quest to escort someone to another town (or even a 'before it's too late!' escort, just avoid the demented ex boyfriend one.), or deliver books (that if you're a mage and you ID first, you can read down to one charge and still get full delivery credit.) or.. whatever else seems appropriate.

A bunch of those quests will mean that you easily have money enough to pay for the 'identify everything' option, that works out cheaper as you get further discounted for each additional item you wish to identify. combine that with negotiation skill and you can pay 300 to identify two items, or a few thousand to identify 10-15 items.

The book delivery quests are especially good if you're either a mage, or want to get your hands on scrolls or staffs, as they reward you with magical items, that can potentially mean staffs of identify, scrolls of oracle (that sell for.. 1200 base, when ID'd i think?)

do this enough, and you can afford to invest in one of the local shops (around 50 shop rank (cost me a several hundred thousand gold.) and you get stuff like plate mail turn up, and emerald/diamond weapons are semi-common.) that in turn means you can tackle harder tasks, or outfit your 'pet' to take a beating for you.

Edit: Noyel's close to the north east corner of the map, about a screen down from the top, in the snow field. Travel east from Palmia until you hit the snow fields, and then travel east, north east and you should see it.

Alright, more questions, and kudos to those of you who managed to figure all this out on your own - this game is complicated!

I have a bunch of platinum coins but I don't seem to be able to spend them.  What's the deal with those?

I assume that buying one of the deed items will upgrade my house, but how does this work exactly?  I see multiples of the same types of deeds.  Do they only upgrade part of it?  And what's the deal with customizing your house using the house board?  I'm very confused on that stuff.

I see on the official forum people asking about seeds, and one person said that if you worship a certain deity you sometimes get seeds from rotten food.  How do I choose my deity?

Thanks for the help guys!  This game is addictive...

Platinum and Small coins are spent in a specific way (I know you didn't ask about the small ones, but they warrant a mention after i spent them earlier on improve material scrolls.)

Platinum ones you gather from quests, find laying around cities, get randomly through luck, or get from chests in dungeons or off dungeon bosses chests, typically. They can be spent in town, used by the Trainer to raise the percentage gains you get on skills. Typically, if the skill's around 100% gain, you get 10% per training session added to your gains, capped at 400% as far as i've noticed. Below that, it tends to give you a few less percent until you approach 100% again. It also seems to get cheaper as you train higher, instead of the other way around.

Small coins you take to the hut on the south side of the lake near Noyel, and can trade for whatever the guy there's offering, that tends to be stuff that's harder to come by. You can find small coins in chests, get them from treasure balls, and find some hidden around town's by searching.

As far as i'm aware they don't upgrade your house, though i've not used one on my house yet, as they seem to be more intended for you to use in the wilderness, to site a new house/building/whatever in the location you've picked - personally, i've not tried this beyond dumping one storage house some place.

Someone said earlier that you get the seeds by chance with the food rotting i believe, and that the deity involved with harvest gives you a higher chance to get seeds from food, and said diety probably has a shrine in the place north of palmia. As far as i recall, you can pray (probably with p, i tend to find gods to be more trouble than they're worth in these games, given my play style, so i'm not entirely certain.) at their altar to start worshipping them, though.

Ugh...  I just went to Noyel to deliver a package and the citizens' dialogue was untranslated, but it wouldn't let me buy anything.  Then the guards killed me.

What the hell did I do?

I keep getting curse effects, too, even though I've had every item I'm carrying identified and none of them are cursed.  I'm so confused!!  Maybe I should take a break...  They really need to finish translating this game.

If your Karma drops to -30 the guards attack you, that makes derphy a good place to pick up missions to get back to a karma level that stops guards attacking. Also, you tend to take some hefty karma hits if you take missions you can't or don't bother completing - usually ranging from -10 karma (failed poison victim escort?) to -30 karma (failed delivery?), with a secondary figure saying 'you lost 93' karma for example i believe refers to your fame taking a hit, too.

The curse effects sounds like you have a item that's got the magical effect that's name is.. uh.. I can't recall off the top of my head, suspicious or suspect or something with a meaning like that most likely, that once equipped makes you teleport around a lot.
If it is one of those items (I believe it was that type of item that caused that for me, anyway.) then i think you have to uncurse it to remove it anyway.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Note: If you have a raw (material) weapon/item, go ahead and equip it, because even if it is cursed, you can just eat it.

I don't think I'm going to be playing this thing anymore...  It's just a little too absurd for my tastes, and the chance of getting yourself killed in random ways is a bit high.

I tried using uncurse scrolls but nothing happened.  Maybe I do have the disease - I got caught in it for a minute before hiding out in the shelter, but I figured the game would tell me if I got sick.  Is there any way to tell, or should I just let this character die since it'll take forever to get the potion to cure it and it's not worth the hassle of walking around the map blind and confused?

And I know that if your karma drops too low the guards attack you, but I checked my karma and it was positive...  Very confusing!  I suppose it'll be easier once the game is completely translated.  I hope they keep working on it and get that done.
