Well, I keep dieing...so...anybody have some suggestions for a noobie like myself?
Most of the stuff has already been mentioned in the first few pages, but theres somethign I believe I didnt read yet. It's mindnumbingly boring and probably a stupid idea, but I think it helped me.
Mind you, I cannot get myself to play anything else than a machinegunning goblin farmer, thats just the way I tick. Problem is... I have to get the firearms skill first (and I'd like the marksman skill too, please) AND rely on a shitty perception stat. So if you try to pick a class that has actual strengths (that maybe even overlap and create synergetic effects) you might actually benefit from it.
Anyways, what I did... was... dig the rooms in my home. I dont use the design board to draw floor and walls, no, I travel to vernis, get a shitload of food and if possible a good bed/sleeping bag, and then travel back home. Stuff the food in the freezer and drop everything thats slowing me down.
Then I just cave out the whole area. (And then use the design board to put some walls in there.
Remember, goblins starts with mining proficiency, so in the long run you actually gain quite some CON and therefor HP from it. I think.
Oh wait, I have A REAL TIP TOO!
whenever you get a potion of cure corruption / mutation (you get one of the first if you follow the main quest for a wee bit) STORE IT SOMEWHERE FRIGGIN SAFE.
1) its too easy to sell it in a hurry, and buying it back costs a fortune, a kidney, your firstborn and your wife.
2) I THINK some (magic) attacks can shatter potions in your inventory.
So, again, keep some of the basic medicine at home (maybe even a small number of "remove curse" scrolls, just to be sure?)
Oh, and a bottle of poison / dye ALSO counts as equally important - you'll need one when you get impregnated by aliens, and it WILL happen sooner or later.
