Pumpkins will no longer be a threat when you have the Sage's Helm... it allows you to see invisible creatures. You can exchange for it with some small medals.

The on I meet wasn't invisible, oh god, and that was in a safe dungeon... so far I've died several times in that one place, bad thing is I want to beat the fucking dungeon master who owns the damn place!

ummm I dun understan zis:

shuddent zis valius be ze saem

edit: I have this theory the charsheet is displayed using the metric system, while the bars on the bottom of the screen are in the imperial system, but I don't know if that can hold up to a more thorough investigation. I suspect not.

Life and Mana are different from HP and MP... Life and Mana are used to calculate how much HP and MP you will have. How? I have no idea...

Or more importantly ... WHY ?

edit: ah yes...

Life is the percentage of hit points you gain per level. 100 Life is the standard value for most races. Liches have 80 Life (-20% HP) and fairies have 40 Life (-60% HP).

The Ascetic feat will increase Life by 5 (+5% HP) for every feat level. Some items may increase or decrease Life.

Yeah, even though I have 133% evade rate, (not sure how anything is able to hit me in the first place) three attacks in a row without using anything to heal my PC with is always enough to kill her. :( I'm serious, I've ruined my PC's reputation trying to finish that dungeon.

Evade is used in calculation with the enemy's hit % ie. Accurate enemies will screw you over.

So I have a quickling, using the bonus races thing. They're very fast, meaning I can own lots of stuff.

But I discovered that they're not as unbalanced as I once thought. I have 15HP. And I'm level 15. Those of you that look up and see Puck's level 10 goblin with 77HP will realize what's wrong with quicklings.

Let's just say that I despise the fact that hounds' breath attacks are unavoidable.

I figure if you take a weak race, you benefit from the ascetic traits.

atm, I'm playing with 3x luck and as I'm progressing through the game I pick the other stuff that looks interesting to me. But if I'd play a fairy or something, I'd probably try to make the first few levels without lucky and moar ascetic; in fact I'm going to try that with more characters.

Because... if "life" influences the HP gain on level up, it's probably a good idea to have it high up from the beginning.

There was some quote about diablo 2 in a forum I once read:
"You didnt die because you had too little resists. You didnt die because you lack block. You didnt die because you ran out of potions. You died because your HP dropped to zero. You can NEVER have to many hitpoints"

I thought I'd let you all know that if you have Elona Chat and version 1.14 running at the same time you can get updates on peoples death and stuff.
You can also use the voting box.

I assume chat works, but I don't know how to use it.

HAHA!

I've finally beaten that damn safe dungeon! After dying like ten times in it! Well I didn't get anything good from it, but I will say that my lock picking skills have increased by a decent amount. Enough to open most of those chests lying around my home.

Also you can wear lots of ruby items... IIRC they give you +3 Life.

Or spend a lot of change material scrolls on your items... but that might change some properties you want to keep though.

I'd have to test if that works;

Most RPGs do not factor in item bonuses that affect stats that are only relevant on level up.

Somewhere on the wiki I read it is no longer possible to read a certain scroll to get more skillpoints on level up or something.

No clue what about the rubies.

Elona isn't most RPG. ;)

I just tested, wielding a rubynus sword (it gives +3 Life) boosted my health from 498 to 510.

Of course. The HP increase is done the moment I equipped it. :)
