Is there any way to change the key configuration (not the hot keys, the z,x,c and the -/+ parts)?

Not that I know of...

I plan to write a journal/story about one of my adventurers soon. I think I'll write in it when my character sleeps. If it turns out alright I might post it in sections.

You can use AutoHotkey for that. You can write an AHK script to launch Elona and remap the keys.

Are you playing 1.13 or 1.14? In 1.14 the uncurse scroll/spell is changed - it only remove curse on wielded items now.

Also the power of uncurse scrolls are not that great all along - you might need to read several to remove a strong curse. Blessed scrolls, or scrolls of vanish curse are better.

If you start a new character, consider taking one or two of those luck feats to start. My first character started with 3 luck feats, and I get a lot of good stuff and very little bad stuff when sleeping - with some mica items, the best record is 3 treasure maps in one night in the King's bed in Palmia.

Also always choose the best bed in town to sleep in... if you have a sleeping bag or eastern bag, bless it. If you're near Palmia, go sleep in the King's bed! The better a bed is, the nicer your dreams would be.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could actually get an uncurse scroll...

But I only had one and I lost it somewhere.

Keep moving between Vernis/Palmia or Derphy/Port Kapul. The magic vendors will have some for sale eventually.

Curses aren't so bad. There're things much worse than that in Elona.

A strong curse at the start of the game? It was mentioned already that the easiest way is not to uncurse or bless but to read a scroll of inferior material and eat your equipment after it is turned to raw.

Just don't try anything else until you find a cure. There're also items that prevent you from being teleported.

Keep some cash ready and buy necessary items as you see them in stores... uncurse, vanish curse, teleportation, escape, return, acidproof liquid, fireproof liquid (1.14 only), cold and fire blankets. Keep some with you and stash the rest.

BTW, I notice in 1.14 that a zero charge blanket is still protecting me... do they work without using charges now?

Random teleport is usually caused by wearing cursed items, get rid of the curses.

We veterans of this game should really write a quick-manual for newer players. I mean, we've basically got an encyclopedia if we put our heads together.

Also I got a statue in my sleep and if I use it I got a luck enchant for 2500 turns.

From the price it's probably a potion of cure corruption. It's a better idea not to sell it though... eventually you will need some to cure ether diseases, and it's a much better deal to trade it to NPC adventurers for artifacts.

Also I got a statue in my sleep and if I use it I got a luck enchant for 2500 turns.
I never had that one... I got a lot of treasure maps and spell stocks from dreams though.

And those saints are pretty annoying, bothering me 5 times a night. ;)
