1. Seize Malange
Military: Action+Stealth

The ASVAG sent a couple of 'diplomats' to the Malange governor's office, to let them know of the new 'arrangment' in store. Threats were made, but the Malange governor wouldn't budge. The governor felt secure within his position, having ruled Malange as his own personal fiefdom while paying nominal loyalty to the Portugese government, and wouldn't dare to give up his freedom to anybody, not even the Germans.

So the ASVAG launched a plan B, which was to posion the Malange governor, thereby replacing him with a successor more likely to give into the Germans' demands. The ASVAG underestimated their foe though. The Malange governor had a loyal group of intelligence agents who was able to sniff out the plan, and the governor took no chances by declaring martial law within the Province, to defend Portugese territory from foriegn invasion. It was a trasparent bid for the Governor to retain power in the face of a growing crisis, but the local Portugese elites preferred the Governor to all the other factions.

Malange Governor has Military Reaction of +1 in order to defend against any military attack.

2. Seize Lunda Sul
Military: Action

The ASVAG officers in Malange however can take heart in the fact that at least they weren't assigned to Lunda Sul.

At first, Lunda Sul appeared to be going well. The governor of Lunda Sul quickly gave into the Germans and furthermore transferred total control over the region. Later on, it quickly dawned on the Germans that the reason the governor gave up Lunda Sul is due to an terrible tribal insurgency that has already taken root there. The governor just wanted to get out. The thick jungles hid the insurgents well, taking out the commandos one by one before sneaking back, ready to begin again.

The agents finally wrote off Lunda Sul, stating that the native insurgency proved too distracting to more important tasks.

Lunda Sul has +2 Military Reaction when dealing with the Germans.

3. Petition Belgian and Portuguese Authorities for Funding
Research: Military
But, the worst job of all had to have been the ASVAG officers in charge of fundraising. It was easy to convince people of the dangers of foriegn influence. It was harder to convince people that the Germans were the only ones that can save them. The ASVAG officers usually had to deal with stingy authorities who preffered to spend money to defend their own assets than to throw money at the supposedly 'elite' ASVAG. The only people who did donate were those who realized that if they did not donate, they would likely be killed by the ASVAG. Donations slowed down to a trickle after the Malange assassination attempt, as observers took that as a sign of the weakness of the ASVAG.

No effect.

1. Seize Cabinda
Military: Action
Anatoly Yang would be yet displeased. The PFP launched an unprepared and ill-equipped military invasion into Cabinda, to 'liberate' it from the Portugese, but quickly bumped into a more organized military front, the Front For the Liberation of Cabinda (FLEC).

This organization claimed that Cabinda is very different from that of the Angolan mainland, and thus should be a seperate, indepedent nation. FLEC proved much more organized and loyal than the PFP's band, and were quickly routed. This victory boosted FLEC's popularity in the province, which boosts its chance of securing the province.

Cabinda has a Military Reaction +1 against all military attacks.

2. Seize Bengo
Military: Action
The Portugese forces within Bengo did not perform as well as FLEC, but they still managed to hold off their own against the PFP. The Portugese engaged in brutal counter-insurgency tactics, which proved remarkably useful. However, the general population bore the most burnt for these repressive actions, meaning that the population felt sympathy towards the aims of the PFP.

No success.

3. Recruitment
Military: Generation
Sympathy does not translate to assistance though. The defeats in Cabinda and Bengo convinced many potential recruits that the PFP may be headed towards eventual destruction. Fearing their survival, many refused to join. It was only when the PFP resorted to forced conscription did their ranks grew, but only to replenish the losses suffered in previous battles.

No success.

Luandino Vieira proved to be a somewhat capable speaker, and his belief in humane government, actually made him fairly popular amongst the population. When the time came to recruit, however, most refused. The common consesus was that while Luandino Vieira was a great man, that his cause would be doomed, and that it is better to wait for survival. Still, Luandino Vieira was admired by the general population as a great hero, a competent administator, and a potential matyr to the cause of freedom.

No success.

1. Try to invest in my black ops

The lack of any effective organzation of the ATC hampered in the main goal of boosting the Path of Logic. Attempts was made to use profits from the arms trade in order to boost the black ops, but corruption still remain a problem. Various commanders sought to redirect any aid into their own Swiss Bank Accounts rather than to improve their forces.

No success.

2. Seize Huambo
Without any truly effective armed forces, the ATC realized that its only hope in containing the tribal insurgency is to bribe or blackmail local tribes to intervene on their side. However, many people were not willing to accept the paltry sums of cash the ATC was willing to offer.

Eventually, all the tribes came together in the "Huambo Conference", including the one tribe that was causing 'trouble' in the Huambo mines. The goal of this conference was to unite the tribes together so that they remain indepedent of both ATC and foriegn rule. Some proposals was hashed out and sent to the ATC for approval, but it is likely it will be rejected.

The Conference's proposals are as followed: The ATC will leave Huambo alone and will guarrante its surivial and protection [in other words, you receive 0 Economic Points]. In return, the Huambo tribes will lend their own forces to assist the ATC (i.e., you will receive a new 'Military Unit', controlled by the Huambo tribes).

Huambo Conference formed and offers proposals to the ATC.

3. Develop industry unit
Generation: Industry
Problems of corruption within the Path of Logic, the 'local troubles' within Huambo, and the spread of disease all meant that spending resources to rebuild the industry proved to be pointless. Many people complained that funds were being used to assist 'fat cats' than help the common person survive in these tough times.

No success.

Becuase the system I am using is proven too silly. Since each point you get is equal to 5% chance at success, the highest you could get if you were held alone is...25% chance of success.

Even if I combine Action with Power and Stealth, the dice was still unlucky. I'm going to need to come up with new mechanics.

Okay, I have to leave before finishing up USSR's turn, so just wait. The points per turn is detailed in the Economy spoiler, this is how many points you are getting per turn.

EDIT: Hm, I think I may know of a fix. Instead of rolling with d20, I should roll via d10, which gives you guys a better chance of actually doing something. But...well...I'm still likely to use the old system for the USSR before moving onto the new system in time for Turn 2. I'll give some sort of compensation to all players though.

Oh boy. I even forgot my own rules.

Alright, Economic Points, in the rules, are the same as Resource Points. Resource points work like this:

Superpowers: The most basic resource on the Superpower level is "Resource Points". Different provinces within Angola produce different resource points. However, only Faction Players can claim and control Provinces. For every 10 Resource Points you receive...you get 1 Evolution Point, which you can then invest in researching Traits. However, certain traits, at the determination of the GM, may cost additional "Resource Points" to use...

Factions: For every 3 Resource Points, a Faction may invest 1 point to improve its traits. Certain traits, at the determination of the GM, may cost additional "Resource Points" to use...

Basically, you can spend Resource Points to boost your traits, thereby making you more likely to succed. ASVAG and People's Freedom Party both gains 1 Resource Point per turn. Once they get 3 Resource Points, they may spend them to increase one of their traits by one.

Angola Unido and ATC gets 5 Resource Points per turn, so they could have already invested 3 of their points in improving their Traits already.

Resource Points are freely tradable, and could be in fact given to Suerpowers or other factions as a way to bribe them to support your cause.

The Economic Spoiler is titled: "Economy of the Factions/Superpower, Before Turn 1". All Economic Points are really Resource Points, I just forgot the name.

Do you think that, since there were no successes anywhere this turn, we could reroll it with the new ruleset?

Because the way things are going, I'm going to keep falling behind and never be able to recover... I need those other provinces. I need them so much. Same for ASVAG.

Also, could I allocate multiple actions to attacks on a single place to raise my odds of success?
