A strange mood indeed
« on: November 04, 2008, 11:03:46 am »

So I have this dwarf who was brutally mangled in several places and as a result spent the last 2 years in a coma. One day, she jumped off the bed in a strange mood and ignoring her still mangled lung and broken arm ran off to chisel a stone artifact. Upon its completion she returned right back to bed and resumed her duties as the comatose cripple, mayor, and punching bag of the fortress.

While very bad ass, I think its a glitch. That or dwarfs are really dedicated to their work, so much so that healing various mangled and broken body parts comes second.

Considering dwarves would rather die than fail to construct an artifact they have in mind, maybe hopping out of bed wasn't such a bad idea.

True, but you would think crippled comatose dwarfs would be exempt from such things. Or there should at least be consequences for such actions, in my case the dwarf making her hand worse during construction, maybe raising it back to mangled status.

Speaking of strange mood bugs, why didn't my possessed craftsdwarf claim a workshop at all? He had skills in pretty much every type of crafting (and I had workshops for all of them.)

And then what?  Mine the sky? . . .  Actually, that'd be awesome.

Did you have a non-magma glass furnace?

Does that matter?  If so, shouldn't that be fixed?

Yes on both counts.
