Does this work?... gems to metal
« on: November 03, 2008, 09:35:31 pm »

I'm trying to mod the game so that I can turn a gem, any old gem into my celestial steel. Does this work?

In answer to your question: Maybe. If the furnace bursts into flames, then it may not have worked. Just a hunch.

So there's that, as well. It looks like the only chronic problems that water can't cure are nausea and cave spider bites.
Which, coincidentally enough, can be cured by magma.

Assuming you already have a "celestial steel" entry in the metal raws, the only problem I can find with that is the material argument should be STONE, not GEM.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Stone? Seriously? Okay... maybe I'll try that then.

No, if he wants to use uncut gems, he needs ROUGH, or SMALLGEM for cut gems.  The game treats gems and stones as different item types.  It looks good to me, but only testing can tell.  If you want to use those materials and reactions without generating a new world, you'll have to edit an existing reaction and existing material rather than creating new ones.

How about if I wanted to take any old LARGE gem and smelt it into celestial steel? Any ideas what the [REAGENT:] line would look like for that?

And oops, I just realized that when I responded to the guy above, he was talking about the material token, not the item token.  My bad.
