i just had a soapmaker with some masonry make a diortite coffin for me.

Fushurzuden Ethzuthbisolnazom, Cleansekeepers the Insensitive peace-dreams.
on the item is an image of two maples in diorite. (decorated, encircled, handing rings, spikes, ect). 38,400 dwarfbucks

i love the name of this one, it has so many interpertations. I like to read it that the coffin is a symbol of peace through death, clean and kept bones dreaming. there are trees, but no elves. clearly the elves in this dream are dead ^_^

A Copper Hammer called "Smash Face"

...Hammer called "Smash Face"

...Hammer Smash Face

Most of my guys were named after metal artists.

It wasn't worth much but it's still awesome and owned by my legendary hammerdwarf.

It has seen use.

This mood almost failed, as my furnace operators were both eating/drinking/sleeping/crap like that BEFORE melting Orcinite high boots instead of their plate mail(I gave them [METAL_PREF] because I somehow managed to delete all my normal smelter reactions, such as steel making >.>)

For some reason, EVERY artifact from my last three fortresses has been fractal.

"Safeproblems the Artificial Words"
And alunite crown of the highest quality, adorned with rings of alunite.
The interesting part of it is, I'm currently using mesozoic dwarves, so these poor fellows have been swarmed by raptors and firedactyls all game, and have been berserking eachother like crazy.

Safeproblems.

its very suitable.

My best artifact was a willow bucket. Yes, a willow bucket. The story of its creation I think is pretty awesome - on my third fortress, a couple of dwarfs were attacked by a fire imp in the first year. They all pulled through except for my carpenter, who remained in a coma for 3 years in the barracks with spinal injuries. Anyway I was finally getting sick of my dwarfs bringing him water and food and i decided to cut his life support off a la Terry Schiavo. Just as I was preparing a tunnel and floodgate to flood the barracks and drown him the game paused and informed me my braindead carpenter had entered a strange mood! He riushed outside to the old carpenters workshop and started building the legendary willow bucket. I've forgotten its name but I thought it was quite apprpriate seeing as dwarves had been hauling him bucketd of water for years. Sadly once he'd finished he passed out in the workshop and a dwarf had to come and drag him back to the barracks. I left him alone after that, the right to lifers would be proud...

Oh and first post hi and all that. Been playing this awesome game for about a month now

In my current fort, I got a mood from some random hauler, the artifact itself is as ordinary as artifacts get and is a toy boat (got a legendary stonecrafter out of it), but the description is pretty funny.

Its a toy boat named The Mountanious Stoker, it has an image of Mosus Cudgeltax, who is my civs king, and it has an image of leaves on it (it actually says an image of a leaves). Now if you think about it for a moment, it looks like the dwarf who made it is saying that 'King Cudgeltax smokes weed!', lol. It is completely made of flint since I had locked the door since I was trying to cancel the mood.

Actually, it could also be symbolizing peace since peace was made with the goblins a few years before the current fort was founded.

I've also had a nice string of mechanic moods lately, ALL fey/secretive. They have some pretty cool names, Trusstrails the Red Bar (its not actually red or containing anything red, until I get some blood covering on it somehow  ;D ), Murdermourn (no idea what that one is about, good name though), and Voiceomens. They are flint, granite, and magnetite in the same order I named them, which is also the order of creation.

I agree, mate. That artifact is the shit for how it was created (not to mention a bucket artifact being nice in and of itself).

None of my artifacts have been all that valuable, but my favorite is this:
Relongutid, "The Royal Utterance," an obsidian crown. It menaces with spikes of obsidian and granite.
I just think the name is really cool. Though I do admit my leather thong dyed with emerald is a vivid image.

Just got a Fey Mood that turned a bonehead Peasant into a Legendary Weaponsmith:

Very useful since my Fortress Military has been training only wit War Hammer and Crossbow. It only weighs as much as a ring (8 Dwounces).

One would think it wouldn't be a very good hammer then, since a light object wouldn't hit as hard as a heavy one, and hammers rely entire on how hard they hit in order to inflict damage.

But hey, what do I know about artifacts?
