My fortress just got upgraded to barony, then county instantly. Due to an orc siege (damn green skinned bastards) I didn't get a caravan, but the human diplomat came to say hi to the new nobles. At the start of the season, I also got a jewelcrafter mood, so he was actively working during the meeting. As he leaves, the dwarf finishes his artifact - a perfect red spinel with an image on it... of a dead human noble. Yea, really nice way to start off diplomacy with the humans for the new county, thanks dude.

The reason why this is funny is because its not made out of bronze, and the fact that i forboded the use of the bronze bars when the miner made this object, seems he was pretty pissed that he didnt get to use that bronze.

Also it was a possession so he doesnt get expereince points

I just got my first artifact thong.  It's probably my first because I've never bothered with a cloth industry before.  This map has an undergound river right next to my fortress, though, so cave spider silk is easy.  Thus, weavers and clothiers.
