This is my fifth artifact in my current fort. The first four were all worth 6,000 or less, and only got me a legendary tanner and a minimalist chair (seriously, images of circles?) So when I got the possession message again I didn't even really bother paying attention to what he was up to. But I was pleased with the result.

Value: 119,400

This was built by a possessed recruit shortly after I started to get serious about defenses when a goblin ambush almost ended disastrously. I take it as a sign from the dwarven ancestors that we will prevail against our enemies, both avian and cave dwelling, protected by our self-referential aegis. Even the name kind of works.

The only way it would have been better is if he had used sasquatch leather, thus encompassing the three largest threats we have faced (so far.) But that was already used to decorate an otherwise unremarkable skirt.

My best artifact wasn't particularly useful, but it was hilarious. It was a marble scepter menacing with spikes of dog leather and decorated with dog leather images of dwarfs striking dwarfs, called "The Naughty Stick."

I've just had an artifact basalt coffer called wealthimpales the feral fires. I found it funny cos my fortresses never last till the economy.

I had one that had a nice follow up artifact...
The first was a Sard Sarcophagus. Its name. The Point of Medicine.

Now think of it. A Coffin called the Point of Medicine, clearly if there was medicine then a coffin wouldn't be needed as much.

But the Follow up was a Jet Bed, and on it was an Image of the Coffin...

Now go make your bed and lay in it...

Will a dwarf put Fondled Wood on their head? Will it make them ecstatic?

EDIT: Seriously, will they wear it?

I had a coffin artifact too (obsidian I think, or maybe just andesite) and it was called the Unteacher. It seems appropriate, somehow.....

I like the artifact in my sig. You can't go wrong with underwear that has both spikes AND rings.

You don't seem to have a sig...Could you just post the relevant information here?

Only vaguely. Made of the same substance and put to the same use, but a bit like comparing a castle and a doublewide trailer.

The Mirrored Cry of <Something, I forgot>

It was a magnetite crown.

It had a picture of itself on it.

I would have preferred for it to be called "The Infinite Loop of Mirroring" and be a glass object, but what are the chances of that?
