On a LOINCLOTH?  Dwarves really do have no fashion sense.

Only vaguely. Made of the same substance and put to the same use, but a bit like comparing a castle and a doublewide trailer.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Why? Because its a steel crossbow, studded with steel, with an image of an orc invasion in orc bone on it.

We will kill you and put images of us killing you on our weapons, made out of your bones, so that the ones we fight next will know what will happen to them when they die.

Two really cool artifacts, have I.  One for being (at the time) most of my forts worth, and the other for the name.

First one:

Onshenuzol *Chantoils*, a Golden Barrel.

This is a Golden Barrel.  All Craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.  This object is adorned with hanging rings of gold.  On the item is an image of two clouds in gold.

This thing ways a TON.  1948 Dwarf pounds.  And it also is worth 108000 Dwarf bucks.

Stettad Gutid *The Tax Of Uttering*, a Spiked Iron Ball.  This is what I envisioned:  Some theif is walking near the trap holding this, and says something, or sneezes and ect.  The trap is sound activated, and then... Bye bye thief.  The tax of uttering is high...

Anyway, description:

Weight:  785  Value: 49200

This is a Spiked Iron Ball.  All Craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.  It is studded with Iron.  This item is adorned with hanging rings of Iron, and menaces with spikes of iron.  On the item is an image of a Dwarf in Alder.

On the item is an image of The Extrication of Meetings the dragon leather thong in turtle shell.

Once again, an artifact that has an image of itself on it.  You would never see something like that in your local lingerie store.

If this all doesn't fix it, your dwarfs are lazy. Apply magma.
"And thereafter, all dwarven children were taught to mind their stools, lest the toilet-fiends snatch their souls from their bottoms"
Try rubbing a cat on it, that seems to help.

<shudders at the mental image of a dwarf in a thong>

<gives Albedo the mental image of the Dungeon Master; a Dwarf who often turns up at the fort wearing nothing but a cloak, and who will proceed to gather dozens of cloaks over his\her time in the fortress and wear nothing but a dozen layers of cloaks.>

In my current fort I had a human caravan show up then turn around and leave, leaving a dead wagon and all the stuff that was on it, in a valley  at the edge of my map. After some searching I found the bones of a skeletal dire wolf, but couldnt find any remains of humans as is typical when a wagon gets attacked. I found this odd, but quickly forgot about it, untill almost 2 years later I get:

Tho the skeletal dire wolf may still be responsible, it wasnt because it attacked it. Im eager to get my engravers up to legendary and see how many times they engrave this event :D

....They just refuse to stay down unless butchered, in which case their skins will haunt you until you subdue and tan them. Never has legendary butcher and legendary tanner seemed so valueable as in this release.
