I've never got an artifact made of adamantium, or an artifact over 150k value, or any engravings of an artifact....but, however, I do have an artifact with a picture of a dwarf raising a chalk idol...and my previous artifact was a chalk idol!

Anyway, I figure that the dwarves are only marginally less wasteful of metal than they are of wood. The moody dwarf's selecting only the best 5% of each bar of metal, and eats the rest to sustain him as he works on the artifact.

Ah yes, I love when dwarves do stuff like this.

It's a pig tail bag.  Decorated with more pig tail.  It menaces with MORE pig tail spikes.

But the best part?

On the pig tail bag is an image of ANOTHER pig tail bag, IN PIG TAIL.

Is it just me, or are some of the artifacts, especially the clothing ones, a bit really tacky?

"Hey Bomrek, you seen my new diamond studded loincloth yet? it menaces with spikes of adamantine, hurr hurr hurr"

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

New artifact.  My first legendary piece of adamantine equipment!

Seriously, will the Dwarf that equips this become a god?

This is an unicorn leather loincloth. All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality. This object menaces with spikes of unicorn bone. On the item is an image of a unicorn.

The unicorn in question mauled 10 dwarves and yet was never given a name which made me sad. I imagine it as a codpiece that impales victims.

It's a shame that it's not a metal used for weapons, so it's pretty much standard iron quality... BUT! It's aluminum, thus VERY light! Three times as light as a normal iron warhammer.

I still don't know my fortress' relation to this Dari. His engravings of the same event are all over the place. Always the jaguar, and always Dari.

Dudes! History is being written in your very own fortress, with waaaay more cooler stuff happening! Bah.

Anyway.

Also, fey mood. Legendary weaponsmith!

Vathemamug, "The Saturnine Fog",  a cave spider silk sock.
This is a cave spider silk sock. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is made from cave spider silk cloth. The thread is midnight blue with Dimple dye. On the item is an image of rats in cave spider silk(?). On the item is an image of a narrow crescent in Yellow Diamond (What a damn waste, though the artifact's value is shocking!)

Weight: 13            Basic Value: 78600

Wow, thats a bad ass sock...I take back the quote about dwarves saving socks, this isn't actually half bad! :)

I think it'd be better to just throw him in a pit.
By pit I mean "ledge designated as pit some 30 levels above the ground water magma" and that would,as they say be the end of that.
Unless a sword/axedwarf gets to 'em.. then it's rhesus pieces...
