Named weapons are OK here too, right?
Before I abandon my beloved 30-year military fort, I'd just like to engrave a little memorial post for some of my favorite ones, because the random name generator is just so awesome sometimes:

Zuntir Birir, The Anvil of Diversion, an adamantine zweihander
Two hundred fifty-nine kills. My goodness that's a teeth grindingly cool name, all my forts will be named this from now on

Niles Ral, The Straps of Silver, an adamantine zweihander
Yet another name that makes me want to write entire fantasy novel trilogies. Two hundred thirty kills, passed down through three generations of swordsdwarves

Izeg Togal, The Ape of Storming, an adamantine great axe
Carried by my champion, in honor of her husband who first wielded it. 1,362 kills, including eighteen forgotten beasts, eight rocs, and dozens of giants

Estilstin, The Whirling Strife, an adamantine zweihander
One hundred ninety-five kills. Its wielder earned herself the title The Golden King of Balls

Nol Iltang, The Tongue of Forking, an adamantine crossbow
Ninety-eight kills, including nine forgotten beasts. With a name like that it really should fire multiple bolts with each shot, shouldn't it

My best artifact ever was ... a 'lead battle axe'. Though kinda useless, it was the VERY first artifact created in a newly embarked fortress. So, my first legendary dwarf was a legendary weaponsmith. The goblins were not happy about that and it made things kinda easy.

My favorite was a door of Goblin bone, menacing with spikes of Iron. I put it on the fromt of my fort, to show a sign to future invaders what they're dealing with.

In my first fortress I built an artifact well in my hospital, that was awesome.
Second one on a glacier, mid-evil & savage for a bigger challenge, got an artifact steel battle axe in the first year, which must have demotivated attackers, because there was nothing until a minotaur ran straight into a caravan escort's sword. It stayed that boring, so now I'm trying a terrifying biome, maybe "scorching", sounds fun!

My dwarves once made an artifact figurine of one of my past adventurers being eaten by an alligator.

Not the best but one of the most appropriately named...

Titthalakam, "The Playful Fortune", a raw adamantine toy axe.

This is a raw adamantine toy axe. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encrusted with square brilliant cur red spinels, decorated with cave crocodile bone and encircled with bands of cave crocodile bone. This object menaces with spikes of raw adamantine, native gold, fungiwood and dog leather. On the item is an image of three hyenas in tetrahedrite.

A fricken toy, worth a fortune. Playful fortune.

Some little dwarf child is gonna poke an eyeball out.

Scornbreed, a raw adamantine mechanism, decorated with bands of iron, and menacing with spikes of adamantine. On item is an image of some carpy robe artifact with a picture of another artifact that has a picture of the robe on it. 6 million urists in value I believe.

I put it in the main hallway, next to the dining hall, filled with ten masterwork adamantine disks. By god, if this fort ever falls, many, many goblins are gonna get MESSED UP going to my dining hall.

The Fortunes of Fame

It depicted how one of the local human kings... became king. It was a longsword, which added to the epicness. The problem? It was made of lead.

That is fricken awesome. Not only is it a funny play on words it sounds epic too.

Too bad it wasn't a lead mace or hammer eh?

---

And here's an artifact I was going to post just now. It's the most expensive one I can recall ever making and has a peculiar name.

Lelumkast Rabed Alnis, "Wanegenius the Freckle of War", a [sic] adamantine dress

This is a adamantine dress. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is studded with adamantine, decorated with goblin-cap and encircled with bands of adamantine, rectangular turqoise cabochons and tapered baguette cut shell opals. This object menaces with spikes of tower-cap.
On the item is an image of Iden Ivyearth the dwarf and dwarves in adamantine. Iden Ivyearth is surrounded by the dwarves. The artwork relates to the ascension of the dwarf Iden Ivyearth to the position of queen of The Helmed Sack in 1.
On the item is an image of round brilliant cut gems in bituminous coal.
On the item is an image of Stukos Boulderfolds the dwarf and mussels in silver. Stukos Boulderfolds is surrounded by the mussels. Stukos Boulderfolds looks terrified. (Oh my god I loled)
On the item is an image of Wanegenius the Freckle of War the adamantine dress in lead.

So many embellishments on that one! And it was 2,228,400 Dwarf Bucks. Someone has got to wear that... Someone in the military 'cause I heard artifacts are glitchy for adventurers.

Rinsecave the Portal of Wars, a giant toad bone throne.

It includes a picture of the rise of the first dwarf king.  I like it because "toad bone" and "bone throne" are both really funny sounding.

:L

Took 6 years to create. Three years after that, I stormed hell with purely military force with a guy wielding this leading the charge. Half my surviving soldiers are now incapable of feeling pain.
