Ruletemple the Persuasive Glacier, Aluminium Mace, my very first weapon artifact.

I was too young and naive to know how to game the materials, but despite being made of alu it still managed to be very "persuasive." I gave it to the first girl to come of age in my fort shortly after her mother perished in battle, a victor over many foes.

A hammer made of solid platinum encrusted with faint yellow diamond encircled with bands of limonite, iron and steel and pictures of dwarves striking down Illithids. It had the tendency to shatter bones through armor.

I just finished spending about 10 minutes reading the immense WALL OF TEXT that is Gudidnonshut Lessenbetwitch, giant cave spider silk thong.

Yes, thong.

This is a giant cave spider silk thong. All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encrusted with tsavorite, decorated with cave spider silk and encircled with bands of bloodstone. It is made from giant cave spider silk cloth. The thread is midnight blue with dimple dye. This object menaces with spikes of giant cave spider silk, highwood and horse bone.
On the item is an image of Ustuth Beanworks the dwarf and dwarves in giant cave spider silk. Ustuth Beanworks is surrounded by the dwarves. The artwork relates to the ascension of the dwarf Ustuth Beanworks to the position of king of The Veiled Axe in 683.
On the item is an image of Omtal, the deity of freedom depicted as a male dwarf in bloodstone. Omtal is striking a triumphant pose.

Spikey thongs seem to be popular with the dwarves, take this one for example.

the best artifacts in my fort of 20 years has to be a three way split between adamantine chainmail pants (my dorfs seem to have a pants fetish), a large serrated adamantine disc (SO using that in adventure mode), and an adamantine anvil (3,994,800 dorfbucks).

2.2 million raw adamantine mechanism.  While I don't use burrows to make planepacked style artifacts, i do use burrows to direct my dwarves to the good stuff.  Its nice to have a few raw adamantine or native platinum blocks on hand.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

About the 2nd year into the embark, this is my first artifact:

Lekrem, "Bristledoused", a platinum door
Basic Value: 96000*

This is a platinum door.  All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.  It is studded with platinum.

Very dwarfy used as my main entrance door.  Everybody going in/out gets a "He/she admired a fine Door lately."

My favorite so far has to be my artifact coffin. It's made of basalt and has dog bone spikes up the wazoo. Also, it depicts the god of oaths looking very disappointed. Which... is kinda awkward, especially since someone's lover is buried in it.

I got a red beryl statue recently. According to wikipedia, it looks like this. No wonder the dwarves were partying all the time. I really wish items could become objects of worship so I could co back there as an adventurer and find a bunch of snakemen treating it as a god.

Another fort earlier had a silver anvil that became a de facto symbol of the dwarven civilization. They were carving pictures of it everywhere.

In my most recent abandoned fort my hunter started to worship his Steel Crossbow.  Not an artifact, but if anything dangerous lived at that embark I am sure he would have taken it down with that crossbow. Mostly marmoats and mountain goats.

I got a giant drill just now. If only I could get a dwarf to wield it by hand.

It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
