Not the "best ever" but the name made me chuckle. Made by a peasant who just grew up the month before, value 39600.

This is a masterful image of your FPS and the HFS. The HFS is committing a depraved act on your FPS.

Urist McJeweller made an artifact gem:

Should I encrust something with it?

Well not the best in terms of value but someone in my fort recently craft an image of the god of disease or something with three rotten dwarfs carrying out the ceremony or something.  Pretty sick stuff - think I'll plonk it in my mayors room and give him nightmares.

My best one, ever.
Thetustziksis "Purgeslpit" a adamantine breastplate
"This is an adamantine breastplate. All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality. The object is adorned with hanging rings of adamantine.
Worth: 900,000db

Bad part of it though, it was a possession.

Best one was a couple forts ago; an adamantine battleaxe menacing with spikes of adamantine worth ~ 1.2mdb. Don't remember much beyond the fact that when I noticed that my weaponsmith had mooded I forbid every other raw material on the map... If I remember correctly, it was lost when the militia captain using it decided to dodge into a major river and drowned.

I don't think I need to explain how "ironic" some of these names are.

Magic Missile Barrel. Value completely random.

Here's one that was just a paltry 108000 db and a useless candlenut ring at that, but check out the images it's decorated with.  WTF is a "screaming man spouse"?   :o  In game terms I mean -- everyone knows what a screaming spouse is, but in the game??

It's probably a night creature.

I got a platinum hammer.
Sadly that fortress fell so I can't find a screenshot for it. Its weight made for surprisingly awesome damage, and it had an image of crying goblins on it.

The best part, it was forged on a platinum anvil that was studded with emerald.

All controversy I have in stock for you is... you can glaze adamantine now, and not just pottery?

I think that since glazing is, technically, a decoration it can be applied to artifacts.  I will need to run a fort to test this!

Only vaguely. Made of the same substance and put to the same use, but a bit like comparing a castle and a doublewide trailer.

Allow me to confirm, and add that if your artifact is glazed with more than one material, there will be no spaces between the names of the materials - so an artifact glazed with hematite, tin, and cheese, would say 'It is glazed with hematitetincheese.'

Oh snap, my weaponsmith had a fey mood and we've got adamantine wafers on hand...let's see what he makes.

One adamantine wafer, pond grabber leather, rough red spinels....

FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU mood failed because we didn't have enough wafers.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.
