My current fort is getting some of the silliest artifacts.

a green rope reed shoe, decorated with rope reed
a menacing andesite quern, with andesite spikes
an andesite FLOOR GRATE <- my favorite
then two deaths because the captain of my guard took over ANOTHER clothier's shop and i didnt have any silk. he killed a fish disector when he went insane. no big loss there
an andesite idol, with an image of the great green shoe in andesite. ALL HAIL THE SHOE.

This may not be my best artifact ever, but in a recent fort I got a cat leather backpack called "The Day of Screams"

Zasit: Cripes! What's with all the noise coming from the leather shop?
Urist: Oh, Thob's making himself a backpack. Have you seen my cat?

Lol once I had a solid gold coffin called Stabwound. But a raccon stole it. Lol

Good god. Gold is heavier than lead. How the hell does a raccoon drag that away?

Maybe he took it piece by piece, like in that Johnny Cash song.

i laughed out loud. really.

of course i doubt the raccoon was working in a gold coffin factory...

Desisabod Istikad, "Snarlingstrike The Shriveled Sun", a Chestnut Floodgate

This is a chestnut floodgate. All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality.
On the item is an image of an elf and a human in chestnut. The elf is devouring the human.

Not exactly epic in terms of what i've seen here... But I have to say. Best engraving I've ever seen.

I once got a platinum anvil titled "feathersmash".
(as a fact I have never once smashed a feather, but I would want a feather warhammer if I could.)

isnt there a note about feathers and eggs and related crafts going into the next version? you may be getting artifact pidgeon feather warhammers with pictures of plump helmets in giant eagle eggs soon enough.

I have a cat leather short skirt with iron and chalk spikes, a picture of a bed, and another picture of some Dwarf called "Urdim Wheelwhip"...

I don't know why they're making S+M gear, but it can't be any worse than the moron that made one cat leather low boot with an image of a drowning Dwarf on it. I just checked, and thankfully somebody decided to smear it with blood and vomit on it.

Good.

I'm just waiting for materials to be incorporated into engravings. you just know some fell mood engraver is going to start painting the walls with dwarf blood and vomit.

i just got an adimantium anvil menacing with spikes of adimantium, platinum, gold, emerald, giant cave spider silk, turtle shell, olivine, and fire ruby. it's encircled with bands of adimantium, platinum, gold, and turtle shell. it has 16 images of various other artifacts, all in adimantium, three images of itself, in adimantium, platinum, and fire ruby, and has hanging rings of emerald and platinum.

dumb dwarf wouldn't stop collecting stuff, but that is the best artifact ever. went in my magma forge immediately, with an adimantium block, making the best forge ever that i know of.

i found the value, and was relieved I'd just sent my brother with a glass of water, because he had to revive me with it.

You know, Toady should implement idolatry into religions. I would not be surprised if a deeply stressed and troubled group of stragglers left behind by abandonment would come to revere that anvil as a god.
