Improbably Brutal Hits Are Wonderful.
« on: November 01, 2008, 03:24:19 am »

Just a quick drop-by:

A kobold was just shot in the head by a caravan guard's bolt. A single bolt, mind you, and I always catch the play-by-play on ambushers/thieves.

Head: Mangled
Neck: Broken
Eyes: Removed

Now this all makes sense. I can see it in slow-motion; the kobold sees the bolt and a look of terror dawns on his face as he tries to turn away from it, only to have it pierce through his temple with such force that his neck twists around and his eyes are torn from their sockets, popping out as his skull deforms.  But in addition to this...

Throat: Removed.

Spinning vertebrae and bone chunks from the broken neck tear his throat apart maybe?

Arrow fly's in a high arc because... umm... bowman tripped on a cloth bin. Comes down from a high angle, pieces down through the kobolds forehead, behind his nose, putting pressure onto his eyes, popping them out. the arrow then proceeds into his throat, opening it to the air, and then lodges in and severs the spine in his lower neck.

There, hows that?

"Shot" by a "caravan guard"? Isn't this obvious? The kobold was clearly betrayed by his own, who hacked his head almost off and gouged his eyes out. They didn't really even bother to make it look like something a caravan guard might have done, as the city guard won't investigate it anyway, being conveniently at war with the kobolds!

In the new DF LP, a massively armored swordsdwarf got his lower body browned, with red kidney and liver, by a SINGLE PUNCH from the dwarven king. who precceded to murder the baron, the mayor, and an axedwarf before being brought down by a hammerlord. leson: your king has lived through worldgen. do not make him angry.

i just watched my legendary wrestler/armor/shield/swordsdwarf rip the left half of a goblin off in one hit...like the entire left side. arms, legs, all fingers and toes, his nose, and left ear. in one hit. i guess maybe he just cut him in half.

Diagonally of course. Otherwise all the body parts would be lopped off.

Well the throat is part of the neck, so, it is possible to remove it...

Yeah, arrows and bolts tend to richochet...alot

Arrows and bolts do damage to the area they hit... and then they explode, giving red wounds to every other part of the body.

Myth confirmed?

Now what about the strange ones, arrow piercing the lungs, heart, spleen and liver; plausible?
