I was only able to play using Hamachi when we were both running BG TUTU (which needs the latest patch), and running BG2.  I COULD NOT get BG1 working with Hamachi.

Because it just has to be said.

Go for the eyes, Boo, GO FOR THE EYEEES!  RAAAAAASGHH!

Seriously, I don't plan to take part, but I love the games.  The story is gigantic, immersive, and well-told, and there's so much extra stuff to find and do and experience it isn't even funny.  And the characters are great, especially some of the PC dialog and soundbytes.  Many of them are genuinely quotable, something not a lot of games can boast.

Absolutely.  Perfectly put, friend.

Biff the Understudy makes a brilliant performance (and cameo appearance, I must say) in the Thunderbelch (or whatever those crazy halflings were called, it's been a long time) tavern's stage.

I'm trying to remember a couple good ones, but the only thing I'm remembering is a quote from Xzar in the first Baldur's Gate.

There's always Jan Jansen, but he's a bit wild for me to actually remember any of his rambles.  Minsc certainly takes the cake in that department however, his discussion with the spellhold warden (or whoever that guy was) was absolutely priceless.

"Is...  Is that man pointing a rodent at me?"

Nevermind we got the games working - none of the ports posted in any manual worked so we placed both routers as DMZ hosts. Then we could join each other's game in Hamachi.

:D

Absolutely.  One of my favourites is the 'made party leader' one- "Minsc will lead with blade and boot! ...Boo will take care of the details."  Xan also has a special place in my heart for *click* "We're all doomed."

And just the other day I was singing "The Lord of Murder shall perish /but his doom shall spawn forth a score of mortal progeny/ chaos shall spring from their passing/ so sayeth the wiiiiise Alaundo..." to myself.

Minsc has to be one of my favorite characters, with his mangling of English expressions. I can't remember the context, but he expressed a desire for someone's rear end which he could put his boot in.

My favorite Minsc sayings are:
"Butt kicking for goodness!"
"Camaraderie, adventure, and steel on steel. The stuff of legends! Right Boo?*squeak*"
and the classic
"Go for the eyes Boo, GO FOR THE EYES!! RrraaaAAGHGHH!!!"

It just occurred to me, after weeks of having been here, that I am now sitting in front of a computer that can handle playing Baldur's Gate.  But my timeframe's a little bit limited, so I'll probably only be able to play after 7:30/8:00 PM Sunday-Thursday, or after 3:00 PM Friday.  Is anyone still interested in doing this?

I'd be interested if we could get at least 3 or 4 people in on it.  It's just a lot more fun when real people are working together.

Plus, I'd really like to start from the first one.

Lessee, 8:00PM my time would be 4:00AM GMT.  Likewise, 3:00PM would be 11:00PM GMT.  Or 23:00, if you're using a 24-hour clock.

So, yeah...  Slightly late.
