As far as I know, No they don't get a bonus if blind,  I think they have a bonus when they're blind, that doesn't completely negate it, but they might be more trained for it.

Also, I keep getting these "File doesn't match blah in .cab file" errors trying to do a full install, I might need to do a Recommended install over a full install.

I wonder if I got a bad SoA disc.  It is kinda old.

Hamachi simulates LAN over the internet, allowing you to play multiplayer games that can only be played in the LAN, like BG2. It's also useful if you want to play with a group of friends but dont want to muck around with your computer's firewalls.

As for problems, they are mysterious. Me and said friend spent hours and hours trying to get BG2 to work in multipalyer, and when we finally did it worked! But then when we tried to continue our adventure at a later day, bam, mysterious problems. He did have to reformat in between though. So who knows what the problem is, we just got sick of spending hours trying to fix it.

Also, I'd certainly be using my mage, my rather snide but really neutral good mage! He insults moany party members and then gives money to the poor! He also doesnt cast fireball anymore, which is good for everyone in general.

Also-also, nobody can get a bonus from being blind, thats just silly! However higher level monks do get "blind fight" which means even if they are blinded, they can still hit things without missing constantly. At least thats how it worked in NWN2, and I remember that BG2 doesnt have a feat system like NWN2, and "blind fight" is infact a feat.

One more also, as strange as it is, I dont have BG even though I do have BG2.

I don't think it is so much a feat as it is a Non-weapon Proficency ( I think that was the term for Non-combat skills in AD&D 2e.  (which also weren't class abilities.)

I'll probably end up playing a Gnome Cleric/Thief.. (I already made the character in BG1) If however we're jumping to BG2, I also have a Half-orc cleric/thief waiting in the wings.

I could play any of BG1 or BG2, with expansions.  If we wanted, we could play TuTu, that'd be a lot of fun.  Anyways, it'd be really cool to play through the first one, then the second one.  The games really are kick-ass.

I really want to try BGT. (Baldur's Gate Trilogy)  That looked pretty cool.

I have no clue though, if BGT works with ToB

Well like I said, I've got BG1 and BG2 but no expansion packs to either.  I'm willing to play either one, or one of the mods mentioned (interestingly enough, it would be the first time I ever played a BG mod.  I always just played native.  I did download the ShadowKeeper, however...).

*scratches his chin in thought*

Well, It'd be easier for me to go without out a mod for BG2, because Baldur's Gate Original saga automatically has ToSC installed with it.

I'm not sure how BG will run if not all of us have the same exact mods.  However, I do think we should all install EastTutu since it's practically impossible to play BG 1 on modern OS's (without some heavy tweaking).  Tutu is much easier to install than BGT anyway and it doesn't require ToSC.

I've got both games with both expansions, and I'm installing them all now with EasyTutu.  Are we going to start with BG 1 or BG 2?  I think it would be cool to start fresh from the beginning, especially if this is the first time playing for a couple of you.

I think we should decide who will host the network on Hamachi and then run a test to make sure everyone can get on okay.  My availability is after 5 PM Mon-Fri (Mountain time).  Let's decide on a time we can all be available to play.

Edit: didn't see the baldursgate2df already set up - I'll use it

You lucky blighters are all playing with premade characters!  I'd have to make a brand spankin' new one!

Oh, and just to keep up interest, I suggest you go ahead without me for a bit.  I won't be able to play for some time yet, and no sense holding you guys up just for that.  We can start a new group of adventurers when I get back into the cockpit of my gaming rig.

I still need to know what to play as, though...  I'd like to know what the general opinion would be of some character that would be helpful, but that they aren't going to play as themselves.  Something that'll boost the other party members, like a bard or a cleric or something.  I'll even do a thief for lockpicking and trap detection, but that's not really my forte.

Or, like I said, I'll go with a totemic druid.   I just need some thoughts on the subject, so that I can be of most use.

And I'd love to be the undead-smasher of the party.  Nothin' quite like having thirty assorted ghouls/skeletons/mummies blow apart at your will.  NWN absolutely destroyed the 'turn undead' ability...  Cryin' shame.

EDIT:  VIKINGS!  We could be Vikings!  A party filled with berserkers, archers, and spellcasters who specialize in cold/electric spells!  I could be the skald who would record and recite our glorious saga!  (Skalds even have a beefed-up bard's song, so I'd be able to seriously boost you guys)

I think that's most likely the path we're heading in, but I really don't know.  I'd like to state that I'd rather play the creation of the original developers than some fan-made quests and such.  I've yet to find something fan-made for such a game that did not reek horribly.

I'll install just about any mod so long as it's a technical mod, not a creative one.
