This is great phun! - Contest/Discussion
« on: October 29, 2008, 04:34:37 pm »

http://www.phunland.com/wiki/Home
Phun is a 2d physics sandbox developped by algoryx. Uhu.
Also, it's free ( half of the readers start getting interested )
...

Phun is great to play around with when your bored. You can do ANYTHING with it, and therefore, I have decided to unleash it upon Bay12.

Because you can do anything with it, I would also want to see what you guys do with it. Post your abominations here, and win! Something...

On the moment, I am making a clock with it. I already have a seconds counter which is pretty close to how it should be ( it takes 64 seconds over a lapse of 60 seconds ). It's amazingly simple when you have a motor, really.
My next challenge is making a rocket.

EDIT: Vista refused to open paint while taking a screenshot of the clock, and now I end up losing my clock. Hurrah!

EDIT:EDIT: New idea, let's make a fully functioning bay12 village!

Did you just post a bunch of vegi-dicks on my board?  I've been trying to combat forum devolution a bit, and that involves fewer vegi-dicks!

Yes, random is funny, isn't it? Sometimes I set up a random number generator when I need a good laugh.

Unleash it? I think its already had its turn around the forum:

Anyways I would happily join a contest or help build a Bay12 village. I am not very good though, the last time i used it was earlier this year as part of an actual physics class homework assignment.

Is it just me, or is it impossible to actually make a watertight container/pump?

Although my launchers seem to work well. Too bad for any real ballistic work you need an obscene amount of bricks. At least, too many for my computer to handle.

Buck up friendo, we're all on the level here.
I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

What like this?

Then again that's not really a pump... It still gets the job done though.

Ah, failure.

I suggest we start with the welcome sign for our village. It has to be flashy. Hmmm...

Watertight is simple now, because there are collision groups allowing easy overlap. The simplest pump I have seen is a + inside a U with a wall down the center, where the + overlapped slightly with th U.

I suggest we have a contest to make the most realistic bicycle possible with phun. I will start work immediately on this project, hopefully it is possible to power the whole thing with a motor connected to legs which turn pedals, in turn turning chain and cogs which eventually passes movement on to the back wheel.

edit] Here is my attempt at a bicycle: http://www.uploading.com/files/QJ1FC8XN/Bicycle.phn.html

I think you have to save it in Phun\scenes folder to get it.

I was a little worried about the title at first.

Also, why must I always spell 'title' with two t's? WHY!?

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the cosmos. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips, I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my veins. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk and free throw.

Right click on any square/circle/whatever and click on 'liquify selected' in the submenu 'geometries'.

Nicely done, but why isn't it moving?

It moves for me its just that the camera is following the object (the pink back part of the frame) so it appears as if it is staying still. If you put some background objects in you will see that the bike really does move. My only problem is that the chain keeps slipping so it doesn't have much power and can't even go up hill before sliding back down again.

Not that I know off.

I completed my version. I'm still undecided about how satisfied I am about it.
