how to 'map' my fortress
« on: October 22, 2008, 07:22:11 pm »

I've seen, on these very forums, people with some application that shows your dwarf fortress, and you can move around, even through z-levels, see what's going on...

How do I do this?!? I really have no idea, and it would be much easier than taking a picture of everything around my fortress, uploading it, and using the picture function, it would take FOREVER.

Any help is appreciated!

I recall it has somthing to do with the "Export Local Image" command on the options menu.

Only in Dwarf Fortress would you try to catch a mermaid to butcher her and make trophies out of her bones

To be more precise, it has to do with the Map Archive

Okay, it's in the archive... do I just put the web address or is there some way to embed it onto my forum post? (I notice an 'insert FTP link' button...)

As it stands, the best I can do is...
