Game search

I've been trying to remember the name of a specific game I once played.
I remember that it was a sort of RPG in which you could be a normal citizen of a medieval town and had to make gold in various ways from selling goods to stealing things.
you could also get married and have children whom you could eventually play when your character died.
can anyone help?

If I remember correctly, the box for The Guild says you can do that. I seem to remember that there was another game like that, too.

Yeah but the guild is also strategy game so it may not be that. (I own The Guild 2... I was highly disapointed but it was mostly because it turns out it was a game entirely different then I thought it was)

Can't be Fable or Fable II because they removed the "Play your Children" feature twice. (DAMN IT!!!)

Can't be Oblivion... hmmm

The Guild (Europa 1400 in North America) had light RPG elements.  I'm willing to bet this was the game the OP is getting after.
