[40d] Can't set resolution in the init
« on: October 18, 2008, 05:09:16 pm »

df_28_181_40d

I have a clean install of this version with no mods of any sort and I can't change the windowed resolution in the init file.

I can provide my init, it's possible I saved it into some weird non-df-friendly format, but I didn't change anything.

Other settings also appear to work. Just not resolution.

OS: Vista

Update.

Extracting into an entirely new folder fixed this. (I had been deleting the contents of my DF folder and re-extracting into the old folder to get my 'clean' installs)

Somehow or other I wasn't editing the correct init file but there was no other init file to edit. Mysterious.

Do settings and shadow files stick around somewheres? Can they be reset?

Vista apparently does some weird thing where it stores (altered?) files that are in the program files folder somewhere else. Check the location given in this post and see if there's an init file in there, maybe that's part of what's causing problems
