Mega-Keg's would be very interesting.

Take 3 Wood or more to make, and can store at least 5+ barrells worth of booze.  But you need to craft a faucet/ spigot for it.

It could even be used as a means of improving the quality of legendary food!  Imagine a "epic" barrel that's been in the fort for over 40 years.  Now THAT would be a unique flavor.  Make it take up 3x3 space, or something.

Then I would insist on AT LEAST 9 barrels worth of storage.

Maybe 2x2 and the said 5 barrels would be enought.
However, the way booze stacked now, it's hard to tell how much exactly "5 barrels" are.

Toady already has plans to fix cooking, so that alcohol would not be the base for a recipie but could add to it...(e.g. magma-roasted beef sauteed in dwarven wine)

For starters, this is dwarven beer. Dwarves would never drink anything less than 300-proof*.

*Yes, I know 200-proof alcohol is equal to 100%. But, be assured, dwarves will find a way.

I just noticed something interesting in chem class the other day.

alchohol in normal drinks is CH3OH, right? well, testing it's pure form, it's 200 proof, as you said. but, C3H5(OH)3 manages to reach 275 proof on the tester. so... it's possible.

But then you wouldn't get inebriated from it. I suspect it is connected to the dwarven quantum storage mechanics. You know how you can dump infinite stone in a tile and how some creatures have a billion elf bone rings? Well, 300 proof beer may be possible after all.

No it's not. This might surprise you, but is CH3OH not C3H5(OH)3.

The latter is glycerin. You ain't getting drunk off that. They're completely different chemicals.

hmm... teacher didn't say that... well, i was just pointing out what the alchohol content reader said. so glycerin, even without making people drunk, can set off the alchohol sensor.  :D that's funny. both dangerous and able to confuse machines. so dwarfs DON'T actually mix explosives into thier drinks, but that could add numbers to the proof.

Wrong again.  Glycerol is a sweetener, not an explosive.

I know that.  But "nitro glycerol" is close-sounding to "nitro glycerine."

my vote:
a new design for the brewery: dwarves build giant barrels around it(or in it) for the storage of large amounts of booze,

but wait, how much booze justifies it?

why of course the barrels would require 140 booze to fill, require 2 giant barrel pieces each, as well as a tap, if you wish to use it.

dwarves could drink straight from the tap, or fill kegs from it.

>>>Additionally
if broken, the barrel may flood nearby dwarves with booze
while it may be their fantasy, most likely they eventually think unhappy thoughts based on how good the beer is. (quantity, quality, and variety increase the effect)

masterpiece barrels age good wine finely, low quality may spoil beer.
