This is an engraving of an elephant and dwarves. A dwarf is making a plaintive gesture. The elephant is laughing. The image has an image of flames in ruby.


I shall begin with an engraving from my current fort.

Engraved on the wall is an exceptionally designed image of Nako Fleshsin the goblin and 'Shorast Gatorskin' the dwarf by Edzul Oltarasdûg. Nak Fleshsin is making a plaintive gesture. 'Shorast Gatorskin' is laughing. The artwork relates to the mortal wounding of the goblin Nako Fleshsin by the dwarf 'Shorast Gatorskin' in Skullriver in the early summer of 103 during The Fifth Attempted Abduction at Skullriver.

Context: Shorast Gatorskin is one of my embark dwarves, currently a champion marksdwarf atop the fortress' tower. He wears artifact alligator-leather leggings made from the hide of a named alligator he killed in the first year.

I'll do a drawing of whoever does mine, to start; after that, it's open season!

The Doom of Nako Fleshsin



"Engraved on the wall is an exceptionally designed image of Tosid Matchdye the dwarf.  Tosid Matchdye is dead.  The artwork relates to the starvation of the dwarf Tosid Matchdye in Greatpit the Citadel in the midspring of 303."

Tosid was a poor clothier (so the story goes), and the description is slightly misleading:  Tosid was locked out of the fortress and starved outside the gates.  This will be his only memorial...

Engraved on the wall is a masterfully designed image of Stozu Oakenhated the goblin and Esteemedfears the sturgeon. Esteemedfears is striking down Stozu Oakenhated. The artwork relates to the killing of the goblin Stozu Oakenhated by the sturgeon Esteemedfears in Skullriver in the late summer of 104 during The Attempted Abduction at Skullriver.

A gobbo ambusher got knocked into the river. Fun times were had.
