In adventurer mode, training your wrestling skill by breaking every bone in a creature's body, and then over a period of several game days choking it, letting it recover, choking it again... And finally removing it's limbs and leaving it there, still alive, to see what the ledgends say about it in a few decades.

.... Who the heck does that?  That's psychotic!

Doesn't everyone just do what I do, and go kill things as a level one until a Cyclops collapses my upper body into a lump of gore?

What's this 'morality' of which you speak? But seriously, It's DF, just kill those bastards. They would do the same if they had the ingenuity...

Some of the stuff we do is just... I dunno. Cruel.

Fair enough. You'll die alot untill you learn it, but it's worth it to be able to kill things with severed heads.

And thus did the dream of dwarven antigravity fade away, not with a massive explosion or a flood of magma, but with a whimper.

I'm going to be depressed all day now.

Very easy. You wander around aimlessly for a few minutes before something decides to eat your eyes. Not much to know.

i want to try a zinc boiling excution champer, it basicly get a chambr bellow with a grate between, in the chamber below i dump a zinc item and flood it with magma, and tadda: boiling zinc is in the air and gets upwards burning down the goblin... at least it should be, if temperature is same mechanic as steam from water, its helpless :>

Explain this now. Has this been tested? Can I kill goblins like this?

Also, will smoke eventually kill a creature?

thats what i want to test as i saw a zinc bar boiling into a hot mist after a little magma accident :) but at first i need some cage traps and a goblin siege, i dont really want to test this on my fellow dwarfs (maybe the second duchess consort *coughs* he gets annoying and her power in form of a baron died long ago)

I doubt any gases have thermal conductivity anymore since steam boiling was removed

For the possibility of mass murder in new and interesting ways, it must be done.

Steam is different from the boiling clouds of whatever you get now days. Boiling liquids can and do cause death and fire. For instance, fire imp fat boils when you  butcher the fire imp. This means that your dwarves can be killed by dead fire imps.

Only if you decided to mod them to be butcherable...

And zinc has a higher boiling point than melting point.  So unless molten items can still boil off, I don't think it's possible to toastify people with boiling zinc.

But I would recommend trying your luck at a magmafall.  I hear magma mist has interesting properties.

Some of the stuff we do is just... I dunno. Cruel.

Remember this.  Write this down on a post-it and stick it on your monitor.  Look at it at least once a day and reflect.

This cruelty we exhibit is one of the single defining traits we have.  It reminds us we are human.  Embrace it.  Burn them all.  Dwarf, Goblin, Cat, Dragonfly, Carp, let none escape.

oh well you know the boiling point of water is also higher than the melting point.. but still you can throw ice into magma and it will generate steam

think about it :)

i actually saw boiling zinc in a little magma accident, and want to make use of this discover ;)
