Weird question but I came to realize that I have no water on the map expect for some ponds and I wanted to know what can I do about it?

I need water because I like putting waterfall in my dining rooms for the swarves.

What can I do?  Also, I'm a huge newbie here

You have to DEAL with what you've got.
That's part of the game.
Otherwise you could just..  you know, Abandon the fort...

yeah, if you don't like your area you can abandon it. If you want waterfalls you should choose an area with a brook(almost impossible to avoid) or other infinite water source.

You could try draining all the ponds into an underground cistern.  If you get enough rain, that might give you a fair supply of water, and you should be able to recycle most of it from your waterfall.
