This kid could provide a warm meal, a nice pair of mittens, and several training bolts to everyone in my fortress if he weren't such a greedy prick.

Time to arrange a small "Bridge Malfunction" for young master Godennanir...

You could use Dwarf Companion to mark all those cats for butchering anyway.  The child might not be so happy about it, and whether you can use the materials from those cats is a toss-up, but it might be worth it to spite the kid.

What's fun is when you chain all the cats/kittens and they still try to adopt people, yet they can't move.

I find it hillarious that "Crazy Cat people" live quite happily in Dwarf Fortress

Anyhow don't blame the child... He doesn't chose the cats... the Cats adopt him as a master

 It's a conspiracy! The cats WANT you to kill the kid! Don't fall for it!

 Kill the cats, make them pay for trying to make you kill a kid! And be sure the kid is near a cage trap, just in case of tantrums.

So basically kill the kid to make them available?

Toady really should implement a limit on pets and items taken with the old stuff getting disowned
