The problem is bay12games.com redirects to 198.170.107.215, and this website has all his links to bay12games.com while the DNS is not yet up to date.

You could solve this by adding to c:\windows\ (or wherever windows lives) \system32\drivers\etc\hosts

the line:

198.170.107.215 www.bay12games.com

(/etc/hosts for unix users)

Will this do bad things once the forum problem is fixed, or can we leave it there forever?

If the site's IP gets changed again and you still have the line in the hosts file, it would probably cause problems.

Other then that, no, leaving that line in the hosts file won't do anything. Well, theoretically it'd improve load times of the site by a few milliseconds the very first time you access the site because you won't need to query the DNS server, but that's it.

Yup, there was. You were deemed to be logged out and couldn't log in Before Bartavelle came along and made this thread there hadn't been a post on the forums in over two hours because of it.
Seeing myself automatically logged out and being unable to log back in slightly freaked me out. There's a user on another forum who has a grudge against me and persistently tries to log into my accounts (I have no idea whether or not he's ever been successful, but I know for a fact that he has attempted it on at least two sites, one of which I'm a moderator on). I don't know if this applies here (or even to other vBulletin sites) but the vB forum I mod on has a feature whereby changing your password logs you out on any other computers you were previously logged in on (nice safety measure if you logged in on a public computer you no longer have access to), and I was really worried that the little bastard had found my account here (though it's in a different name), got into my account and changed my password. Thank Armok that wasn't actually the case

Thanks for the help Bartavelle, but I was stuck for a while wondering how to open the HOSTS file. For anyone else with doubts, use Wordpad!

Yeah, the HOSTS fix didn't work for me either, plus I can't restart this computer because of what I have running on it :/  Guess I'll just have to keep using Chrome's element inspector.
