Apparently roads made out of soap can be quite valuable.

Who doesn't love a Slip-N-Slide?

Roads made out of soap...oh boy this makes no sense at all. Toady should work on this a bit.  ;D

I've made a set of soap roads, yes.  My traders are so clean.

I've also used soap to line several rooms, and will be attempting to use vertical soap bars to raise tomb value while still letting the engravings be visible.

Roads indoors count too. I use block roads to cover up the soil floors in hallways, ect. I had a small embark site on once fortress and I was paving over the entire world trying to get my value up. So I started just using them to replace floors indoors.

Only problem with roads is any objects laying on the road blink over and over again, which is annoying, so I will only build them places where dorfs are not throwing crap around or places where bodies and broken bolts collect, like at the front gates. Stick them in oft-used halls and use blocks.

I didn't know about the bridge thing. Some Masterwork mechanisms in a Solid-Platinum bridges might work instead covering the map with pointless roads and out door Plazas.

If roads increased movement speed we'd build roads all over the place.
