the final megaproject

this just popped into my head. the ultimate mega-project......



fill the entire map with your city. build walls everywhere, and have a gaint cube of a city filling the entire map...that will give you bored guys soemthing to look forward too lol

Nope. Doesn't sound fun.

You haven't been playing very long, I see.

More relevantly, the big problem with this idea is figuring out what to do with all the volume you're encompassing. You can only dedicate so much space to massive statue gardens, huge magma waterfalls, and the like.

big bedrooms with privat dining room for everyone? like humans do, just with the difference you also make for every workshop a own building too, and have more than 30 habitants, beause you get up to 200 ;)
i am thinking of make my next fortress like a human town, with watchtowers full of markdwarves and all, maybe some palisades too. i think then you can make fairly a big town without huge fun constructs... but of corse: what is a dwarf fortress without statues gardens and magma falls? :p

Automate the cube to encase you in obsidian with some lever pulls from the inside, then encase that cube in magma.  have the final layer spill off and destroy all windmills and pumps, leaving no evince behind that anything lives inside.

i know your thread ;)

the point is here he asked what to do with the space, and bigger housing for each dwarf than underground door to door is simply the easiest why to get large space occupied (and many mason/Caprenters busy ^^)
