The bigger force is squats. We just don't know it yet.

Use spoiler! You break the rule of the boardgames 10000000000000th: If it's on the plot, haven't released, you know it, don't talk about it

On a slightly more serious and less amusing note, I'm having some real difficulty finding magma pipes with this world. I've practicably dug out a few maps looking for the fiery stuff and i just can't find it.

Nice name, Sergeant Carcer.

I've dug in the northwest corner, a purple mountain, along the northeast on a broad leaf purple, and one of the scorching deserts in the west along the center. I haven't survived long enough to hit magma in all of them, but the volcano I dug under at the desert and the volcano in the north west corner certainly had magma to them. How deep have you dug? How many seasons?

Thanks. I tried embarking on a few volcanoes... but promptly had my dwarves catch fire and burn. Amusing but irritating after the fifth time.

On one fort, I've been digging both shafts and across Z levels for about a year and nothing.

On another I just dug shafs down for about two seasons to the exclusion of everything else.

Bad luck those five times, you had to've picked a location so scorching your dwarves burst into flame. It happens.

All I can say is that map was made to be slaughterrific, and that's what I like about it. It's so dangerous, even the world tries to kill you. There are volcanoes there though that aren't face-meltingly hot, however, when you're in proximity to the volcano.

I'll keep searching, and probably leaving crispy dwarf bits in my wake.

Use the site finder and look for an underground pool, an underground river, and a magma pipe all at once. You'll get a habitable location with a volcano near a mountain, with copious amounts of sand.

No, thank you. I have a world gen addiction, and this topic gave me an opportunity to subject other people to my unusual worlds.  :P

By the way, do any of you really like waterfalls? 'Cause I just generated a world with some pretty nice ones.

Edit: By nice, I mean I've seen one about 15 or so z-levels tall. There are others, but I don't know how tall they are. The 15 z-level on is only 5 squares wide.

Also, this made me think of you guys:

Does anyone know if the fish fell off the water fall and got smashed or if it was torn apart by other fish? I haven't had a large fish get dismembered so fast before.

Thanks for those suggestions! I found a good spot and it even gets skeletal camels! No goblins though....

I know there are some waterfalls there, but I can't guarantee the rest of the world won't be uninteresting.

Does anyone have any really interesting world generation parameters they want to share?

If you guys want, I can make a world that's a total snowscape. With frozen oceans and everything.
