[40d] Weird Muskox

My female muskox recently gave birth to 2 muskox calves but I didn't have any male muskoxes. There weren't any muskoxes in the wild either. Is this proper behaviour.

Merchants recently? if they had Muskoxen with them then it's likely that's where the little ones came from.

To answer the OP's question, breeding occurs via action-at-a-distance. As long as there is a male and a female of a species on the map at any time, the female has a chance of getting impregnated, no matter how far away they are, or how briefly the male is on the map. Like others suggested, it could have been a trader, or perhaps you just didn't notice some wild muskoxen.
