Legends of epic anticlimaticness.

"In 13, Nefola Wonderseed's fourth finger, left hand was smashed by the goblin Strodno Sweattorrents."

Yes, apparently the most interesting thing to happen in the last hundred years was some guy getting his pinky finger squashed. ::)

Playing a cheesemaker in an average Fortress 'round here would be. Freaking. Terrifying.

I can't be bothered to look it up right now, but I always found the legends notes that are something like "In 15, John McHuman moved into an apartment building in splatteredcakes." to be terribly exciting.

I always loved looking up the history of the drunks that I led to their dooms. They move to different cities quite a bit.

I actually ended up running into a worldgenned dwarf who had one arm, and one leg.

Probably the best member of my party, until his pancreas, left eye, and second kidney got shot through with a bolt.

That situation, at least, is not possible. If I remember correctly, a bolt can only hit one body area at a time, be it a limb, the torso, or the head. A single bolt can, however, poke out your left lung, heart, liver, pancreas, and exit through your intestines.

Wow, I was just runing through a human town with my huge band of 13 drunks...10 or so I killed because they betrayed me after seeing my kill a child..Any ways..I was runing around doging arrows for fun when one hit me in the head.. It took out my one remaining eye and a few other things including my brain and got stuck there. I threw my amazingly awesome skimitar and shield down and pulled it out of my head. I started runing in the general direction the archer was in, because I was now blind and I got shot in the chest. After about three steps tords the guy I got shot in the lungs and the heart with a single arrow. I droped the arrow from my head and pulled out the one in my chest and continued onward. Next thing I know im swarmed by two children and a peasant and one of the children some how punches my head into my stomach. What in the hell man?

I was always amused by the bolt that pierced both ears and yet nothing in between.

The average brain can instantly heal a gaping hole that was caused by being shot from ear to ear. The healing happens so fast nobody can notice it.

No, by multiple bolts.

Still best guy in my party.

But this is where you're wrong. It can happen by the same bolt, but not in the same shot. The bolt could take out whatever it was, and then exit the body, hit a wall, drop a z-level and remain unharmed. Then the marksman could go and pick it up and shoot again, repeating the process until everything has been shot out.

Of course, this wouldn't happen, since NPCs charge using their crossbow as a hammer or their bows as swords, before picking up the bolts or arrows.  But in theory it could happen with the same bolt.

What if a second marksmen was standing behind you, caught the bolt with his eye, could he shoot it back at you?

Supposedly, problem is that removing an iron arrow from your eye will cause massive bleeding and probably kill you. Same with a bow lodging in your abdominal Aorta or your heart. If you remove it, you die.
