Windowed Resolution Problems
« on: September 29, 2008, 04:58:46 pm »

I started a fortress in fullscreen mode, saved and then loaded the same file in windowed mode (for a number of reasons). When I played it in windowed mode, the modified characters (like the smiley with the beard) were replaced by regular characters, the AI pooped out and left all of my dwarves milling around when there were QUITE CLEARLY jobs that I needed done and they were able to do, and I couldn't declare areas.

Windowed and fullscreen, by default, use different fonts. You can change them in "[wherever DF is installed]\data\init\init.txt", though if you do that you'll probably also want to change the resolution so the new font doesn't get stretched or squished. I'm sure someone else will come along with a better explanation for how that all works if you have more questions or you could try poking around on the wiki :)

As for the other stuff... not a clue.

As far as the other part, i have no idea, but this has happened to me before. Saving and coming back in seems to fix it, but i have no idea what causes it.

[Their shields are thick, their swords are sharp, and they are clad in the bones and skins of those who dared to stand against Depthhall. This beast's hide will clothe an army, it's meat will feed generations. This time the beast does not win. The dwarves will have their fortress. Losing is fun, motherfucker.]
