From the chronicles of fortress the Badrape, founded by the seven dwarves of Red Roughness.
Early Autumn 264 in Metropolis Asdosgunlel, "Badrape"
"Another vile force of goblins has arrived. They are 30 strong, headed by vicious elite goblins and divided into three groups. First squad arrived from south, they perished in the stonefall traps of the kitten-corridor. The second and third squads have headed for our main entrance.
The whole second squad triggered the pit-trap pressure plate and fell down to the pits of doom. Third squad demonstrated the cowardly nature of goblins by routing at this sight.
I have ordered all marksdwarf squads to the murderholes of the pit of doom to finish of the remaining goblin troop.

Late winter 264 in Metropolis Asdosgunlel, "Badrape"
"The Horror!
As ordered previously, our marksdwarf squads proceeded to execute the final remains of goblin intruders in the pit of doom. The slaughtered the goblins from safe distance. But to the marksdwarves great surprise, their leader didn't fall despite the constant hail of steel bolts!
Our marksdwarves have been stationed in the pits of doom for months now, leaving only to replenish bolts and rations. But the goblin, this Ôsbu Tuxôguksos, she just doesn't die! We've exchausted our entire stock of bolts, and our smithy is desperately forging new bolts, but the goblin shows no signs of perishing! A lone wooden bolt stuck in her leg is the only proof that the barrage is having any effect!
If the fell beast doesn't fall soon, we'll have to order the champions to the pit to finish this off. Already this goblin is having a huge detoriating effect on the troops morale - the peasants are whispering about spawns deamons and undead carp!
If everything else fails, I've received the authorization from the mayor to construct a ballistae battery in the lower pits. Engineers are also finishing the channels so we can flood the pits with water and drown the fiend. Hopefully a stray bolt ends this before things have to to come to that.

Yeah. So a siege comes in, and some goblins fall to the cheap pit trap trick. I order my marksdwarves to finish them off, and leave the game running while I do some work.
I return to the game after it has been running by it's own for quite a while, to relieve the dwarves and to dump the goblin trash. As I select the marksdwarves, I notice that they are _still firing_!
Several months has passed, the pit is littered with bolts, and the three marksdwarf squads are still blasting at the lone goblin in the pit.
At first glance it looks like she is uninjured.
But a closer examination reveals her wounds... FROM OVER 200 BOLTS FIRED AT HER!
So either she has some serious dodging skills, or my markdwarves really suck. What do you think is the reason behind this? What will happen to my dwarves? Will they perish under this monster?
