Haha that's neat.  I abandoned and went in as a Human: PLay now! adventurer.  The fort got turned!  The cliff was facing north, which is neat looking 'cause everything is sideways.

Welp. I permaflooded my fort. I had a room mined out for irrigation and farming once spring came around. For some reason the floodgates preventing the rest of the fort from being flooded didn't close. Can rocks sitting on top of open floodgates prevent them from closing?

Yes.  ANYTHING will block a door.

Even a dead dragonfly.

Anything will block doors.  Absolutely anything.

And sweet, we have a legendary bowyer?  We can defend ourselves the proper dwarven way - hiding behind ditches and fortifications peppering our foes with sharpened cat bones.

If we ever have anything to defend against.  We've had no attacks of any kind and no wild animals.  It's a bit depressing.

a bit odd, but that'll surely change once we start using the chasm as our landfill. or begin turning it into a parking lot.

Well...

Did you do nothing but dig east in your turn?

I mean come on.

well, what did you want me to do?! I had enough trouble getting a military started and getting the food supply working. I also was hoping I would get some creatures to attack but there weren't any attacks yet.

Don't worry, I wanna make the the fabled Boatmurdered Operation FTW. Are we planning on killing the Elves also? And what about other dwarves that anger me? Might I bring down my own justice on them.

Hey, I don't care what you do.  Piss off the elves, attack the humans, slaughter the dwarven caravan.  I don't care; just don't directly destroy the fort.  Causing a siege is fine, and even interesting.

On the thing about Iluogo just digging east, he didn't.  There was a lot of fort development in that turn also.  It's just that he found two features in relatively short order.
