Wow, how Ironic. Now that I'm stuck using a computer without the capability of running a fortress on, It's my turn. Hows about the 12th for my turn?  ::)

Can I have the save until then? I can easily whip something quick up.

Playing a cheesemaker in an average Fortress 'round here would be. Freaking. Terrifying.

Now is the May 11 save really the most recent one or am I missing something in the last several pages?

Take what you want, the other participants will decide the continuity ;D

word of advice, if water falls into a pocket of 7/7 water and a floor, the falling water dissapears.

Trust me, I failed the original pump tower and got too frustrated trying to get water to build up behind it...

Of course, why else would dwarves risk life and limb to retrive one sock during a full scale siege onslaught.
The depressing thing is that they quite often lose life and limb(s) in the process.

... No it doesn't...

If water falls on 7/7 water, it either spreads out or becomes pressurized. If it's pressurized and there is a way for the water to go down a z-level or more (through the 7/7 water tiles below), it will.

it doesn't for me, it just dissapears down every shaft in exeistence in my fort, I added like 6 hatches to close off the shafts after the rest of it filled but I couldn't hatch off the pump tower so I gave up

All right, I'll upload my save tomorrow afternoon.  I just need to add a few details and find bodies to fill these coffins.

http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1192 (Hope that works.)

This dungeon brought to you by Pointlessly Large Excavation Productions (PLEP) and really fast dwarves.  Have a nice day.   :)

The management will take absolutely no responsibility for interactions with inhabitants not wearing the PLEP "Have A Nice Day" Badges.  In the case that such a creature is encountered it is recommended that you drop your weapon and attempt to neutralize it by applying a nice warm hug.  If this fails, a satisfaction associate will be along shortly to loot your equipment and notify your next of kin.

Barbarossa said he would be building something starting on the 12th, so I'd say wait until then unless you can build something in one day.  If he doesn't show up just do whatever you want.

Edit: Somebody should cheat up a bunch of good weapons and armour then give them to the shopkeepers so there's actually a reason to collect treasure and bring it in to trade.
