hurrr, embarking on a town and abandoning leaves all your citezens there, which is really neat. but it breaks the shops, which is not.
tried out the 2 sites so far in adventure mode, both have huge death by drowning threat, one even seems only accessible by someone with a really really high swimming ability...
below some experiences for those who don't want it spoilt...
had great fun at the site to the extreme right of the map. surface had random elves, humans and dwarves standing around in a traumatized stupor, covered in slime and unidentifiable substances. there was adamantium ore strewn about the place with other random garbage.
pretty quickly ran into a tentacle demon right there on the surface, then upon descending some stairs very far down, came into a HUGE room, could not see the walls, and was set on from all sides by more tentacle demons.
the battle was epic. out of my 8 companions only 2 survived, a human hammerman and a crossbowmen. the highlight was the one demon holding a lashers weapon with one tentacle whild strangling him with another, before piercing his chest with one of its claws and then picking up his iron whip and using it on the survivors.
also, ive never really invested in throwing before, but in accordance with the wiki i did so this time. the above tentacle demon had an iron pike, a steel axe and several arrows stuck in him as a result of this.
lost the hero later on when i was in some of the maze/catacombs style areas in the main fort (across an adamantium drawbridge!) and i unwisely opened a golden door which aparently had high pressure water on the other side. you cant escape when there is only 1 tile wide mazelike corridors behin you....
also, the other fort in the middle of the map, near a chasm on a river, can apparently only be accessed by swimming under the invisible forcefield present on brooks. haven't yet reached a level of proficiency where i can do this...
make sure your forts are cool, but not retardedly frustratingly death filled. try and find a line...
