you could set dwarves to evaporate at 60 degrees...
Or you could set cats to have a body temperature of 40,000.

Well, this has to be built in but, "Controlled Collapsing ( Modular version )", like you can make the Kitchen/Still/Food Storage collapse, or maybe the Living Areas!

What you should do is build a tower supported by a single exterior column that switches corners every level then rig the top floor's column with a lever.

Pull the lever and see how Toady's physics model implements "pancaking".  I predict there will be nothing left standing save one ground-level support sticking out of the rubble.

Make sure it's only the top floor that drops: we want the momentum of the falling floors to destroy the tower.

I've seen falling debris punch holes in floors and even hollow ground -- falling debris once ruined one of my underground farming areas by punching holes in the cavern ceiling -- so I'm just curious whether a chain reaction of falls can bring down an entire tower.

Make a tile trap in every last tile of your fortress. This includes replacing your furniture with weapon traps.

I have a volcano and I'm building all the bedrooms/offices/etc. around it so I can just dig into it and unleash a horrible flood of death if I ever feel like it.

Heh i did the same with a river

Well I just decided to put a few pressure plates linked to spikes in the hallways.  I figured this would inflict maximum suffering with a chance for survival.  And least effort on my part.  Down to 148 and counting.  Pretty much everyone's freaking out.  Got a legendary buckler made with image of dwarf striking dwarfs with plaintive gesture too.

Letting some goblins in the back way would probably help too. What, with the civilian deaths causing tantrums. That almost happened to my fort today. Some rainwater in a pool that i thought i'd drained decided it'd be a good time to freeze. Results were almost devastating.
