Not sure if anyone is into it, but I'm trying to watch some decent anime films/series and wondered if anyone had some suggestions. Any manga buffs out there?

Ta,

I mainly know the old ones from the 1970s, here goes:

Fist of the Northstar, The Professional Golgo 13, Akria, Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D, Supernatural Beast City(now called Wicked City), Ninja Scroll.

There's a ton of porn and giant robots too but I think that stuff is boring.

There is that old one with star-ship Yamamato.  I think it's called Star Blasters.

The old show with starship Yamamoto was called Star BLAZERS.

"...fighting with the Gamelons.
We won't stop until we've won!
If we can win the earth will survive!
We'll keep peace alive with OUR STAR BLAZERS!"

Sorry...theme song popped into my head.

Some other good ones are Vampire hunter D, humanoids(I think that is what it was called...been a while.Anyways it might have been called Androids), That series about the futuristic sexy female cop("Battle Angel : something or other" or am I getting my titles mixed up again?), Macross, Devil Man(Again, I might be getting mixed up with manga titles or something).

Ta people. As the multitude of TV channels available to most Americans is only now becoming common over here though Sky/Cable we miss out on a lot of the more fringe stuff. However as some much of the things I'm interested in has manga influences I thought I'd better do something out my near ignorance of the genre. Now all I have to do is find a video shop bohemian enough to have some of the titles you've mentioned.  :)

actually there isn't alot of anime on american TV.  only ones I've seen are Pokimon, Cowboy Beebop, and Fist of the Northstar.  The rest you have to get on video rental.

As for the name X one of the good things about it is that it coulda been inspired by absolutely anything.  :)

Why do I get the feeling Skele recently split up with his girlfriend?  :)
