Also.
Modding.

That's the most FUN part.

Unlike GalCiv, which can't be modded anyway (I regard GalCiv II as their re-entry title into games again. And... it works, because they got income from their non-games commercials, and their director is the AI scripter.

THE AI SCRIPTER.
That's what made the AI so great... when compared to other games...

(Also: Tech tree, well, sucks. I hope there would be no tech tree here, except for magic.)

Ah yeah, I forgot about modding. Yeah, since everything will be moddable in Elemental, the game should have a very long life. Good example: Civ games. Take a look at the civ3/civ4 modding community...and keep in mind that we gonna have much more & better modding possibilities in Elemental.  :D
..as for the tech trees: I don't think that we gonna have that in Elemental, but I am not sure.

If you live in the Seattle area, we’ll be showing the full Elemental build (not the cloth map build) at the Stardock boot at PAX.

Hey that is you Toady! You live closeby. The fact that you and that Stardock guy have amphibious handles is a sign.

Ok, so I downloaded the Beta this weekend and gave it a shot. It's in a very early state right now, with just the cloth map to play around on. Still, I can see a lot of neat ideas here and while you can't do a whole lot in the game yet it does seem to have a lot of promise.

So far, I'm still looking forward to the finished game quite a bit!
