Goblins getting you down?
Mine to the bottom of the earth, dig out the entire layer, then channel down all the sides of the embark area.
CAVE IN THE ENTIRE EARTH TO DEFEAT YOUR FOES.

Construct a ceiling over the world. Have it connect to a single pillar, or multiple for show. When an enemy force comes, RAIN DOWN DEATH FROM THE HEAVENS!

Why settle for just one?  Mine out every layer of rock, and then build and collapse a ceiling over it.  The resulting collapse will kill everything, including your processor.

You will also be left with the biggest landfill known to dwarf.

Bonus points if you have a magma pipe and the giant hole fills with magma.
Be interesting to reclaim....

Build a tower in the middle of a bottomless pit, starting from the bottom.

Self-destruct switch optional.

Somebody actually did this already as an experiment, I remember a thread about it in the general section.  The entire center of the map was separated from the edges at the designateable wall, then dropped one z-level.  The injuries caused an instant tantrum spiral in the outdoor workcamp.

I think that using every piece of rock on the whole map would be the most Dwarfingest idea ever. A million bonus points for anyone who manages this.

You could technicall build a tower then collapse the entire map so your towers sitting with bottomless pits all sides or atleast huge drops- which you could then fill with water/magma so the entire map would be filled with water/magma. The thought of nothing being able to reach your fortress is pretty damn funny haha. Is a chasm created when you collapse to the bottom Z level? this would be a pretty awesome way to ensure you dont get any lag from random creatures. Dear god.... during the winter? hahahaha dwarf death trap BUT WE COULD HAVE A DWARF FORTRESS AT THE BOTTOM OF A LAKE! holy crap i wonder if putting windows would make them look out them?

THIS MUST BE DONE! i am going to mine my entire 3x3 fortress out and have a cross to the bottom of the map then collapse everything else and fill it with water, i'll need to build a roof for the magma pipe but honestly a top on it couldent hurt! I'll build some above ground areas for tree growing with draw bridges being the only thing that connects the map together!- would sieges spawn in the water? BRILLIANT!

I once tried to build a fort in an artificial lake, and the lag was unbearable. Sure, it would be nigh impossible to siege, but the lag while trying to pump 10+ Z levels of water from a source was taking forever with 10 automatic pumpers running nonstop

I was just thinking of leaveing 1 wall at the edges except for its natural exit(maybe even block that off and raise the water some Z levels!!) and let the brook just naturally flow into there but then again the lag might be insane with thousands of squares of water changing level and nearly 20 Z levels of pathing available to the 150+ dwarves.
