Does anyone know of a good guide to place signals? All my attempts to place them have failed

A lot of signal placement is still trial and error.
I understand how they work just fine, but there always ends up being one signal placed a tile off causing the entire thing to seize up..
I can get 50 trains running on a dual-track line just fine otherwise.

Interesting game. The only winning move requires you to play first, however.

Is someone going to host a server?

I had this giant-ass monopoly with two forests, a paper mill and some printing press, where I had three trains circling the place and picking up wood, dropping it off, picking up paper, and bringing it to the printer's. Brought in a lot of money.

yeah, whenever I look for the server it doesn't even say that it's online, or even a server. I use the latest stable (0.7.2)

I just goto multiplayer>Internet>AddServer

I wouldnt mind joining in on this aswell. Im currently experimenting with road based transport atm. Such as making highways with two one way roads. Its good fun likes. I usually start with two airports at two ends of the was to make millions first, then I just start having fun.
