Pathfinding spam when farm is inaccessible
« on: September 24, 2008, 12:32:34 pm »

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but when a farm is inaccessible, dwarves who are set to harvest sometimes spam dozens if not hundreds of pathfinding errors a second. Needless to say, this slows the game to a crawl. I believe that this is because harvest tasks are automatically generated, and when one is canceled, it is immediately regenerated.

Kinda the same way with planting seeds. It'll generate about 10-12 errors about how the farmer is out of seeds... But it doesn't last nearly as long.

not nearly as bad as reloading traps.

Oddly enough I find it weird that Dwarves currently cannot attain godhood.

Really? I get reload spam off traps maybe once every two minutes; the mechanic usually finds something else to do in the interim.
