Well, I just realized that I had to do something with all my elephant bones that I had lying around, so I built a bunch of bowyers shops and craftsdwarf's shops and sent my peasants and bonecarvers off to make weapons out of the bones. Well, elephant bones make 80 bolts stacks. Masterwork elephant bone bolts are worth a lot. I just wanted to tell you guys.

This makes up for everything that has ever gone wrong in my fortress. Thank you Toady.

and also nonsensies like on the botl there is an image of dwarf and dwarfes in diamond by McUrist. On the bolt .... and so on for 1-2 pages ... i can't really imagine that bolt how it looks like

I may sound a little nerdish/bookish right here, but the stack of bolts made from bones is 5* the stack of bones. So elephants, being freakishly big, drop stacks of 16, dragons drop stacks of 20.

Titan bones also make for 100 bolt stacks.

 Be sure to have a damblock of -75 or more. 'Else these monsters will punt things across the map and be untouchable, despite 1-1 damage. Unless you can somehow have .1-.5 damage.

If you really wanted to be nasty, you could just mod dogs to be size 100.  You get massive piles of bolts and pets that step on dragons without noticing.  Win-win.
