The human merchants left. They were at my depot for months and unloading, stating I could no trade with 'em because some slow as hell wagon was still halfway across the map for the past month. So now all the wagons are slowed down by the slow one, and are on the bridge. Should I drop 'em? They seem to have a crapload of stuff.
I'd say that such a level of stupidity is worthy of the death penalty.

Alright, finished yesterday but could not get on due to forum issues. Despite the approval of the guys 'ere, I didn't dump them. While the engravings years later of wagons colliding with obstacles would be nice, I feel more migrants would be better.

 ...

No migrants came this year. Crap.

 File.

Of course, every dwarf has a name now. Unless there is a surprise immigration wave, we need to BS something. That or take it from the view of the player. Or a bodiless overlord.

Or the spirit of the dead woodcutter.

Or the dogs/cats.

Not a single cat resides at this fortress anymore. Only their skull totems show evidence they were here at all.

What?!  What happened to my cat cage-pressure plate trap?!

I may be partly to blame for the lack of cats. Small fluffy creatures make excellent Goblin early warning systems when chained up outside the entrance.

Got the save, Starting immediately. I apologise to Snuffs, who is undoubtedly in for an exciting year of desperate damage control.

EDIT: I'm going to start madness, someone else can do greed.

I wonder if there is connection between every goblin ambush squad being lead by an enemy dwarf and the fact that we aren't getting any immigrants. Maybe the dwarves that settled at Ringkindling were the last dwarves of their civilization. Or maybe the mountain homes were overtaken by goblins while our dwarves were venturing out on their trip. The dwarves that were captured by the goblins were subsequently integrated into the great Gobo Horde and have turned to eliminating the last Dwarven outpost in existence A.K.A Ringkindling. The legends files seem to back up my theory but I only had a quick skim through so I may be wrong. I think that this needs some further investigation.

Somehow, that fills me more with dread than anticipation.  It's like being told that someone's exhuming your favorite grandparent and they're going to try to make her into a cyborg stripper.
