Someone should make mummies with pumpkins for heads that drop candy corn when you kill them. Or something.

I currently am in the final stages of testing my creature. I will release it into competition soon but I am still ironing out some of the last bugs. I would tell you what it was, but then someone might steal the idea.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Can i submit something i made for something else previously (not as a df creature)? I.e. can i turn something i designed previously into a creature file and submit it? Or do you want us to invent something for this in particular?

That sounds fine.

Alrighty then, i give you the attercop:

And the body raws:

Here's a picture of one for reference (drawn for a completely unrelated project):

It was originally designed to prey on smaller critters, but i turned it into a large predator for this. I tested it by playing as an 'adventurer' by instantly abandoning a "Play Now!" fortress. They're fairly dangerous to unarmed dwarves, but armed dwarves can kill them pretty easily. I managed to kill a fisherdwarf and jeweler, but an unarmed woodworker managed to kill the first one i tried. Second one killed the woodworker but it and all the ones following got owned by the woodcutter. They have [AMBUSHPREDATOR] so they might be more dangerous as non-controlled critters.

I have completed my creature. I call it the Dark Rider. It is basically equivalent to the grim reaper mounted on a horse, complete with bloodsucking scythe.

Here is the creature file

Here is the body tags.

This also has to be added to the matgloss_stone_mineral.txt file

*Note for people: this stone allows the Dark Rider to unleash a freezing death curse when he dies, freezing nearby dwarves or other creatures in a boiling cloud.

And here is a picture showing somewhat what it looks like.

Whee. Punkinbat and darkrider, as I imagine them. Only looking at it now I think I'd make that pixel above darkrider's eyes on his hood a bit darker.

Question: Can we add in more than one thing? Not necessarily into the competition itself, but just into the mod.

Huh, i was sure he said something about that already, but i scoured the first post (and each subsequent one) and found zilch. I was certain he said it was ok.

Sure why not?

One entry per person?
You can enter as many as you want, just make sure that all your entries are the best you can make. You can only win once, anyways.

Huh, now I feel stupid. :P
