Searching for Chasms/Bottomless Pits
« on: September 18, 2008, 02:10:42 pm »

If this has bee acknowledged already, feel free to delete this topic.

Searching for Bottomless Pits in embark often yields chasms instead. Can this be fixed?

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

The wiki Agrees with Untelligent:

However Im not entirely sure as I thought of Chasm as the stretch of tunnel that had a bottomless feature and a bottomless pit as the magma feature without magma.

This is true. Chasms are chasms in the shape of a river's beginning, and bottomless pits are chasms in the shape of a lava tube.

Correct.  However you can get the occational Round Chasm as well (it looks like a bottomless pit, but the map and the finder show it as a single #)

Well, maybe I'm just silly, but if they have separate names they should at the very least be differentiated in the search engine.

They should be. If you look there should be a pit option in the search, this stands for bottomless pits, as well as a chasm option for chasms.

I know, I've used it extensively. The problem is, Bottomless Pit searches often yield Chasms.
